Welcome to Wikipedia!

edit

Hello Crisericson, welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are some tips:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. There are also the help pages for self-help and the village pump and IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance. You should also feel free to ask me on my Talk page.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes(~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Please do not add this signature to encyclopedia articles you may edit, however, even if you have created them. Wikipedia articles are owned by the community, not by any one person. Again, welcome! WAvegetarian (talk) (email) (contribs) 20:45, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Your questions...

edit

Hi! I wanted to edit Stanley Tookie Williams but was unable to do so. Stanley Tookie Williams was executed by lethal injection. The term "lethal injection" actually means a series of three injections, one of which is to paralyze the victim so the victim can not scream out loud in pain. The lethal injection execution of Stanley Tookie Williams took 36 minutes. Many opponents of the death penalty consider this torture.

I am still having trouble trying to add a photo to an article, it keeps giving me a "." and I don't know what that means. I am having trouble finding quick and fast and easy instructions. from Wikipedia:Article Improvement Drive --Crisericson

The Tookie article has been temporarily blocked to stop vandalism. As for photos, I have provided you with a link to the picture tutorial. If you have any more questions, or want to get in contact with me for any other reason, just click on "talk" in my signature.

Multiple accounts

edit

It seems that User:Crisericson and User:Cris Ericson are the same user. This is discouraged. Please read Wikipedia policy on having multiple accounts. WAvegetarian (talk) (email) (contribs) 21:00, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Picture

edit

First of, the picture is NOT in the public domain and it IS copyrighted. The only way it could be used is under fair use provision which is highly discouraged. Now what you could do is to upload one of your own pictures (ones that you have taken) and release it to public domain or under GFDL. If you have any questions, put it on my talk page, not on my user page. Renata3 22:14, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Best not to make statements about other wikipedia users in wikipedia articles. Such edits are bound to have any such references deleted. I am not sure, given that it is an international encyclopedia, that wikipedia necessarily needs to give special coverage to what is going on in the USA right now around this subject, SqueakBox 23:47, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your bio

Please dont use wikipedia as a soap box, it is an encyclopedia. There are blogs, forums and other spaces to post the type of info you just posted, wikipedia isnt it, SqueakBox 01:39, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your rudeness

edit

Please stop making rude comments on your edit summaries or I will assume the article is pure vanity and take action. Please tone down your aggression, SqueakBox 01:47, 21 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

You are stuck with having a biography, dont vandalise it again or you will be blocked from editing, SqueakBox 15:52, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cris Ericson

Please read WP:OWN. A biographical article about you is open to editing by anyone. All information in an article must meet the following policies: WP:LIVING, WP:V, and WP:NPOV. IT should meet WP:BIO & WP:EL guidelines as well. I would also urge you to read WP:AGF, WP:NPA and WP:CIVIL as many of your edit summaries have not adhered to this. You have been blocked from editing for 24 hours due to violations of WP:OWN, WP:CIVIL, and WP:NPA. Durova 16:17, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your username

Hello. It seems your Wikipedia user name resembles that of Cris Ericson, a United States Senator candidate. To prevent unfortunate cases where pranksters pretend to be someone well known, our user name policy (at Wikipedia:Username) requires that such accounts be blocked (the part where it says "Names of well-known living or recently deceased people"). We do, however, realise that some (regrettably only a very few) of such cases are infact the real person named; to that end, can I ask you to email info-en-q@wikimedia.org (mentioning this discussion at "User talk:Crisericson") from your official email address and confirm that you really are Cris Ericson, or that you're editing on their behalf. The people who handle that email list will then be able to unblock this account. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope you'll understand why we need to be careful in this regard. I have also blocked User:Cris Ericson. Thanks/wangi 12:59, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
