Adoption edit

Hi. I noticed your work on Carmello Anthony which led me to check out your contribs. You look like you're doing well to pick up the wiki-way. I see you're interested in being adopted and that your interests seem to be focused on article writing and improvement. That happens to be where I like to put my focus and it's something I'm wanting to get back into. Anyway, check out my user page and my contribs and such, and if you think you'd enjoy being adopted by me, let me know. LaraLove|Talk 06:03, 16 July 2008 (UTC) {{adoptoffer|LaraLove}}Reply

My interests edit

are mostly sports, football, and music. I have that Mike Myers infatuation with certain cultures, having been born in Scotland. I haven't been there in forever. I tried to do some 'vandal' fighting, but not quick enough on the draw :]. I've done quite a bit of editing anonymously, but I wanted to sign up because I'm thinking of writing an article some time. I tried some admin stuff, like articles that were going to be deleted, but it seems to be trial by fire. I don't even know if you get this message or if I am supposed to put this somewhere else. Anyway, a few pints down, I want to say thanks for commenting on my work. If you could show me the ropes on other aspects, (the bullocks, as my mates say), about this place, that would be the tops. Don't be scared about my hybrid way of speaking, I'm a military brat, I guess.

Sorry for the delayed response. What article are you wanting to write? If you want assistance with that, I'd be glad to help. As I noted earlier, I want to get my focus back to article work and away from the behind-the-scenes stuff, for the most part. I have some experience with getting articles on DYK and I've got a lot of experience with Good articles.
Don't worry about getting into the admin areas just yet. That's my recommendation. Focus on article building for a while, become familiar with policy, then maybe move into those areas later. And replying here is fine. Everyone has their own style for talk page exchanges. Some will reply on the poster's talk page, others prefer to keep discussions in one place, which is my general preference, as it makes for better archiving. I can teach you about that later if you don't already know.
Alright, well, just let me know what ya need. If you want assignments, I have an adoptee classroom I can involve you in. LaraLove|Talk 19:51, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the response. I need help with references. How do I use the same reference twice in an article? I tried cutting and pasting, but it just makes duplicates in the footnotes section. Craig Montgomery (talk) 22:10, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

First assignment edit

Your first assignment is here. A friend of mine pointed out some issues with this article. It was quite funny, actually, but true all the same. See if you can spot the problems and correct them. Let me know if you need some help or have any questions. LaraLove|Talk 05:55, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I do not know much about poached eggs. I prefer my eggs "over hard". The picture on the article page is not very enticing. Craig Montgomery (talk) 06:05, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
True. I've never cooked a poached egg, nor eaten one. If you are so inclined to poach some eggs and photograph them looking yummy, that will earn you extra credit on the assignment. And what is this credit for, you may ask. And to that I reply, ...uhm, nothing?! :D LaraLove|Talk 06:13, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Very good work! Now to think of another assignment... LaraLove|Talk 15:37, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yo edit

How ya doin'? I looked at your last edit and what followed it.... I hope you've not been run off. Drop me a line when you come back. LaraLove|Talk 17:10, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

It was just conversation and I took it personally. Sarcasm IS allowed here. And having learned that, I plan on utilizing it. Thanks for checking in. Craig Montgomery (talk) 03:38, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
