Fabric discography edit
Hi. Great work on the Fabric albums - I'm a subscriber to the series and a massive fan. However, I do think there are a few points for discussion, as follows:
- At the moment, many (if not all, I haven't checked) of the articles are in danger of failing the notability guideline for albums as they do not show any independent coverage from reliable sources and therefore do not demonstrate meeting the general notability guidleine. We should try to address this by including reviews where possible.
- The WP:ALBUMS project manual of style for albums says that "Songs and singles are placed in "quotation marks", album titles are italicized and artists are left alone". Therefore, it is incorrect to bold the artist name in the track listings, and it is correct to put the song titles in "quotation marks".
- Finally, I don't think we need to include the record labels for individual tracks - IMO this is unsightly and verging on WP:CRUFT.
I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the above - perhaps we could work collaboratively on these articles? Keep up the good work, cheers! — sparklism hey! 08:38, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hi (again). Yep, the formatting on FabLive64 is much better. I agree about the bold labels though - I don't like it so much. Now you mention it, I actually DO like the table format in FabricLive.22 - I don't usually use tables, but I think it could work really well for the Fabric albums. We could even include both label AND track times in that format (never used them myself though, so would have to learn how first) - I think that would be really good. Shall we have a go at sorting them all out with the table format?
However, my main concern still stands from point 1 above: without references, these articles stand to get deleted. It shouldn't be too hard to find some online reviews for most of these albums though (particularly not the recent ones) - I have made a start on FabricLive.59 as an example. What do you think?
