List of most expensive video games to develop edit

Thank you for your recent additions. I noticed you mentioned thinking Star Citizen should be added. Please do not. See the talk page for multiple long discussions on that topic. Most notably though, we do not have any sourcing for an exact development budget. We only know how much money they have raised, and there's even some questioning on whether it should be considered "crowdfunding" anymore or outright commercial operation. Without a direct source of "x was spent on development" we cannot include it. -- ferret (talk) 12:59, 20 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Why Nowloading.co is unreliable edit

Hi Costas,

I wanted to let you know why I reverted this source you used. First, it's not a reliable source, because it allows any user to sign up and write articles. There doesn't appear to be any editorial policy or staff, and no reputation for fact checking. The author of this particular piece is noted to be from Creators.co... But that's another site anyone can sign up on and start writing.

Secondly, the article is clearly based on an earlier version of List of most expensive video games to develop, from February or March. The entries in the list are in the exact same order we had them in, and all of the data is identical to what we have. Some of the entries you are adding, such as MSG, were later removed from our List because the sourcing wasn't valid. This is referred to as Wikipedia:CITOGENESIS, where a website or newspaper uses Wikipedia as a source, Wikipedia is then updated to remove unsourced or badly sourced content, and then the website or newspaper is used to add it back.

Please don't re-add these entries, this source is invalid.

Thanks, ferret

December 2020 edit

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia. Continued use of unreliable sources or clearly unofficial/rumored sales figures will result in a block. This has gone on long enough. -- ferret (talk) 16:16, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
