Heat (software)

edit

A tag has been placed on Heat (software), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to provide more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately, and also put a note on Talk:Heat (software). An administrator should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 1 under Articles. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such material.Diez2 16:01, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I am currently in the process of authoring this stub. I am also currently learning about this piece of software and since there is not current wikipedia article on it, I am authoring one. This is my first article I am writing and I am trying to learn your syntax so please be patient and bear with me.

I understand that the article is marked for speedy deletion because the content I have provided is so short (in words and in sentences). I only saved my progress to see how the syntax would look like when committed. I understand that this is what the preview function should be used for, but I didn't want to lose my progress.

Please give me a day or two to write something more substantial before deciding to delete this work entirely.

Thankyou for your interest in Wikipedia. We are currently working on 1,476,191 articles, on a variety of subject areas. The article Heat (software) has been tagged for deletion. Do not take this personally, we were all new once :) Just that writing the article as you learn about its subject probably isn't the best way to go about it. By all means, if you are able to provide more information on what the software is, what it does, and why it is an important piece of software in its field, do add this in. If the article is eventually deleted, I hope this does not put you off editing any of our other articles. Cheers, Chris talk back 16:25, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I understand your reasoning and I accept it. I do hope that you give me a bit of time before you determine if the article is to be deleted or not. I will give the creation of this article my best effort and don't understand what standard needs to be met in order to save my article from deletion, but I will try to be as thorough as i can. I hope that work unequal to full product manuals will be accepted.

I am writing this with respect to copywrites and am trying not to include any of the text from training manuals I have access to. Again I want to express my surprise that no article for this software exists and that a simple description of the application, its publisher and target markets would be useful to the passerby. I hope that in the final determination, that piece of information survives.

That would mostly down to whichever admins are looking through the category, though I imagine they will see your {{hangon}} and give it due consideration. Chris talk back 17:14, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
