Alveus Sanctuary change
editHi there! I saw you made a change to Alveus Sanctuary to remove a sentence that you claimed had a nonreputable source, and was a promotional sentence. I think the sentence was a useful sentence for giving context on the reach and scale of the organisation the page is discussing, and I'd like to understand why you're asserting that the source in question isn't reputable? - Hi! Good question. The Dallas Express has been rated by a Media Bias / Fact Check as having "mixed" record when it comes to factual reporting: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/dallas-express-bias/
- Furthermore, it is featured on this list of political disinformation websites: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_political_disinformation_website_campaigns_in_the_United_States
- A Google search for "Dallas Express bias" is will turn up more relevant reading. Correctlee (talk) 01:23, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
Conflict of interest
editBased on this and many others, given your POV-pushing with Monty Bennett, I am here to ask a clear question. Do you have a connection to Steven Monacelli, Monty Bennett, The Texas Tribune, or the Dallas Express. I agree that Dallas Express is not a reliable source but your editing conduct has given the impression that you have a conflict. CNMall41 (talk) 03:12, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- No. I do not. But I am glad we agree that the Dallas Express is not a reliable source and should not be cited. Correctlee (talk) 15:16, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answer. I understand that discussions can get contentious in Wikipedia, especially with political topics, but this is a standard question based on the editing. I will WP:AGF based on your answer that there is no conflict. That aside, I will say that you seem to have passion for the topic and passion is something that makes a good Wikipedia editor. However, it can also cause a slant in WP:NPOV (it has happened to me from time to time). I will offer you this should you plan to stick around and edit other topics outside what you already have. If you want to collaborate on some pages I would be happy to guide you. After editing Wikipedia for a while, the application of guidelines and policies becomes more clear and will help you with future editing. I am thinking of starting a draft on the Dallas HERO ballot measures and we can start there. The topic seems notable based on a preliminary check of available sources. If you don’t want to, I completely understand. Just leaving the offer out there. --CNMall41 (talk) 03:48, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the thoughtful message. I think you're right to consider an article for those ballot propositions. I'm happy to contribute. Correctlee (talk) 21:56, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. I am happy you replied. I had started a draft space a couple weeks ago where we can collaborate. I added a few sources and can start some text and somewhat of an outline. Note that nothing is in stone so feel free to work on it at-will and we can discuss everything on that related talk page. I did find something in a Google Search that there was a challenge to the wording on the ballot but cannot determine if that happened before or after the election. Do you know or is there a source showing that information we can add?--CNMall41 (talk) 00:11, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
