Image tagging for Image:Comfortably Nowhere Small.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Comfortably Nowhere Small.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

The article John phillips has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Same for Comfortably Nowhere. NawlinWiki 16:25, 16 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have edited the page, hopefully it will no meet the requirements of wikipedia, because this is a real book. I will be putting the page on John Phillips back up, however it will be more complete next time, I'm emailing the author for more personal information.

A tag has been placed on Comfortably nowhere, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. coelacan — 03:08, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

notability edit

Hi Cornsloth. The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is not simply that a product exists, but that it is notable. The standard usually used for books can be found at Wikipedia:Notability (books). When I deleted comfortably nowhere, I did so because the page made no assertion of notability, and so it met our speedy deletion criteria. coelacan — 17:36, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi again Cornsloth. One of the reasons we require a measure of notability is that everything in Wikipedia has to be verifiable. If we don't have multiple non-trivial published works that are reliable and independent of the subject, i.e. other reliable publications writing about the person/organization/product/whatever, then we can't be sure that we're writing anything verifiable. So without some notability, there's just no way to approach accuracy. It's not intended to be a judgment on what "deserves" to have a Wikipedia article or not. Just wanted to make that clear. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Comfortably Nowhere Large.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Comfortably Nowhere Large.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:24, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Elvistsui.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Elvistsui.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:40, 16 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 05:40, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Elvis Tsui edit

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Elvis Tsui. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Elvis Tsui edit

The article Elvis Tsui has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. NW (Talk) 00:26, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've rescued that, but please come back and expand the biography and filmography e.g. adding years and putting them into order. I just made the list from the "what links here" function in Wikipedia. - Fayenatic (talk) 20:19, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:Elvistsui.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Elvistsui.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:42, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
