Translation attribution is required edit

Your Draft:François Escuillié is clearly a translation of the article fr:François Escuillié from French Wikipedia, but is missing the required translation attribution.

Translating, and even word-for-word copying from other Wikimedia projects is permitted, but every edit to an article which includes copied or translated content from an article on any Wikipedia or sister project requires an attribution statement per Wikipedia's licensing requirements. This is a policy with legal implications which every editor must follow, and unlike almost all other policies which may (rarely) be ignored, this one is obligatory.

Every time you add translated content to an article, please append the following information to your edit summary which, as usual, should also have notes about what that edit was about; using "French" in this example:

Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article :fr:NAME_OF_FRENCH_ARTICLE; see its history for attribution.

If you saved a version of a page where you included some translated content and forgot to add the attribution statement in the edit summary, then it has to be supplied after the fact, according to Repairing insufficient attribution. This involves creating a dummy edit to the article or draft in order to provide attribution for an earlier edit. Example:

Repairing insufficient attribution: The earlier edit of 16:30, 15 June 2022 added translated content from the French Wikipedia page at :fr:François Escuillié; see its history for attribution.

Please see WP:CWW § Repairing insufficient attribution for full instructions, and add the proper attribution to your Draft. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on my Talk page any time. Mathglot (talk) 04:11, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
