Page move resulting in history loss.

Hi. I noticed from my watchlist that this page was recently moved and so it got me curious to try to follow the discussion that might have led to the move, but when I clicked on the "view history" button, I could see that nothing remains of the previous page so there is no edit history to view previous discussions from the page prior to the move. Is this type of loss typical for page moves? If so, can it be avoided by somehow saving the prior history during the move? I think it is a very critical issue to address since prior evidence of consensus (or evidence of other previous page issues) could be easily obfuscated by simply doing a page move, and only those directly involved would know otherwise. Huggums537 (talk) 18:57, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

The edit history shouldn't be deleted because of a page move so I find that weird that the history is somehow not there anymore. The reason I moved the page is because that wireless service as been rebranded. I am on my mobile phone and will respond later on a computer. Thanks. cookie monster 755 19:25, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

To be clear, I was talking about the talk page edit history where I might have folowed whatever discussion there was about the move, not the article edit history. The talk page history seems to be lost or was never present to begin with. Huggums537 (talk) 07:07, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
