Welcome edit

Hi, Convergentmediapr. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  05:20, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Speedy deletion nomination of Willie Macc edit

A tag has been placed on Willie Macc requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. May 2009 edit

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Willie Macc. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Cutting and pasting of internet pages is not allowed in making articles, even if you wrote the initial article yourself. Rather than removing a CSD tag you should use the hold-on function to defend the article Porturology (talk) 06:24, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}} I wrote the bio that I posted on my page. There is no copyright as I own and created the material. It's what I use for my client's bio. Of course it will show up everywhere. What are my options?

Please read the business FAQ. fahadsadah (talk,contribs) 08:50, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
If you read my welcome, above, it'll tell you how to create a user subpace, try things there, and how to ask people to take a look.  Chzz  ►  08:58, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{helpme}} Thanks. I get it. When will the page be deleted so I can start all over and adhere to the RULES.

When someone gets round to it. Also, please place {{helpme}} templates at the bottom of the page. fahadsadah (talk, contribs) 10:14, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Willie Macc edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Willie Macc, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable bit actor

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy because your account is being used only for spam, advertising, or promotion. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

{unblock| This post is NOT created for promotion or advertising of any kind. Look at other actor profiles, there is more said about them, their personal life than that was noted here on my article. This post is used to do what wikipedia does. Include information for a notable actor and comedian. Perhaps the person that contested this does not know who the person is, but I read posts of people that I do not know all the time. I followed all the rules, gathered sources to support my article. My sources are verifiable and I listed references to reliable sources. The subject is listed in other areas on Wikipedia including some of the projects he has worked on.}—Preceding unsigned comment added by Convergentmediapr (talkcontribs)

You yourself said, "I wrote the copy... it's what we send for our client." In other words, it's promotional copy. As a PR firm, you have no acceptable role to play here. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:17, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

{unblock| True I did say that with the previous submission. Regardless of my association as a PR person, I wrote new copy that was in the same tone and style as other actors profiles on Wikipedia. If you did not know I was a PR person, the submission would be acceptable as I adhered to all the rules. The subject is notable, he was on the highest ranked season of the show that had a viewership of millions of people. He is known to a largely African-American audience, and audience that does refer and contribute to Wikipedia. So in essence, you are deleting my submission because of what I do, not from what I wrote. My writing still does not depict my intentions, other than to inform and contribute. I don't see in the wikipedia rules that because I work in PR I can't contribute. As a former copywriter and resourceful person there is a lot I could bring to this community. Your actions are telling me that my submissions are not fit, whether they adhere to the rules because I was honest by my profession, but clearly adhered to the rules in my second submission but I am being persecuted for not understanding before. It's not fair that this is being held against me. And honestly it isn't fair that you removed the listing because you did not think he was notable. There are a ton of actors that are listed will less credits and notoriety."Convergentmediapr (talk) 21:15, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
