Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello ConnorGrantham, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Draft:Panache Lingerie Ltd. have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:47, 12 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

December 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  MER-C 19:17, 5 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

it was my first try at writing an article for wikipedia, i understand how the article i wrote came across as advertising but it was not my intention.I do admit the main reason for creating this article if for SEO purposes but not as an advertisement for the company in itself. i tried to be unbiased and informative as possible, but i obviously failed to do so by wikipedia's standards, i would also like to say that it is my fault that it did not comply with wikipedia's copyright policies as i used my own text written for wikipedia while updating our information on local directories while the article as being reviewed. i did declare my conflict of interest on my user page, but i would like to elaborate further here i have two conflicts of interest as i am the grandson of the company's founder and i work part time in the marketing department focusing on SEO and front end issues.i was hoping that i would get some more help or advise on how to make the article conform to wikipedia's guidelines after it failed its review. i just want another chance to create this article while complying with all of wikipedias guidelines to the best of my ability. ConnorGrantham (talk) 13:23, 7 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You did not declare a paid editing relationship(a Terms of Use requirement). You also don't refer to the fact that you posted a copyright violation- which we must take seriously. You aren't going to be unblocked to edit about your company. If you want to edit about other subjects unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 13:32, 7 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

i was unaware of the requirement or the existence of a paid editing declaration i was under the impression that the declaration of a conflict of interest was all that was required of me. i did refer to the posting of a copyright violation "i would also like to say that it is my fault that it did not comply with wikipedia's copyright policies as i used my own text written for wikipedia while updating our information on local directories while the article as being reviewed." i feel this block is unfair for a first time copyright violation and for someone who is new to editing an who is trying to comply with the guidelines. i wish to continue to contribute to wikipedia i've been working on an article for the Betaflight flight controller software in my own time with the intention of editing more articles about Drones and quadcopters (a filed i'm quite knowledgeable of) again my intention wasn't to advertise here or to be disruptive, but to contribute to wikipedia ConnorGrantham (talk) 16:07, 7 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. Yamla (talk) 13:39, 25 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
