Daulat Rao Sindhia

Please move this page to Daulat Rao Sindhia. You can also name it Daulat Rao Scindhia but you cannot drop the "Rao" because that was part of his name and he is known in ALL history books with the "Rao" included. That was the custom of his people, the Marathas. NOWEHERE except in this Wikipedia is he mentioned simply as "Daulat Scindhia." I suspect that dropping the "Rao" is intended to make his name correct in the Western style, like "John Smith" or "George Baker" but that is not a correct thing to do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.168.140 (talk) 13:42, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of Gordon Willa

Hello Compassionate727. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3),or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at Gordon Willa. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Tagging an article one minute after a new editor has just begun to write it is plainly inappropriate. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo) (talk) 17:30, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3),or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at 1MDB Airlines. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Satabdirayi (talk) 15:03, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

I don't even know what to say about this. This article is about an airline which doesn't even exist: it's a planned development. There is no way it could meet the notability guideline. It's also promotional, and I would like to note that it has already been deleted twice in the past month under the exact criteria I used. If you're going to lecture me on not tagging something for deletion that qualifies for it, I would at least appreciate it if you were an admin. -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 14:57, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) I don't know if you checked C but this template was placed here by someone with two days experience and less that 60 edits (as I type this anyway.) Satabdirayi you had no business using this template per WP:DTR among other policies. You should also take a moment and read WP:CSD as, nowhere in the guideline, does it list an "X amount of time must pass" requirement. C I do have one question. You say that is in the planning stages - and forgive me if I have misunderstood your statement. Is there any other article where this "planning" could be mentioned and a redirect created? I haven't done any research on the subject so I am only mentioning this as a possible compromise. If I am way off base please ignore my question. Also don't get me wrong I still think your speedy tagging was okay. Cheers and enjoy the rest of your day in spite of this. MarnetteD|Talk 15:31, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
I checked their user groups to see if they were an admin or not, and I checked their contributions to see if they had more than a few, but that was it. As far as the article it concerned, it could probably be mention on either 1Malaysia Development Berhad, the parent company, or on some article relating to Malaysia, which owns 1Malaysia Development Berhad. -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 15:37, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply C. I will leave it up to you whether a mention in either of those article is of any use but I do appreciate the thought you put into it. MarnetteD|Talk 15:51, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Kion

Hello Compassionate727. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3), or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at Kion. Thanks. I also note that you placed on A7 tag, which is reserved for articles about real people, on this article about a fictional character, an indication that your review of articles before tagging is too cursory/careless. Please take more care in the future. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo) (talk) 18:35, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

At the time I tagged the page, there wasn't even a lead. It wasn't clear that we were talking about a fictional character. -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 19:50, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
The fictional character infobox, the description of the subject as a "character" in the infobox, and the "created by" and "voiced by" credits were pretty clear, you know. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo) (talk) 22:34, 15 December 2015 (UTC)

Please stop hasty tagging

Compassionate727, it is noted that you have been advised a number of times not to place A1, A3 or A7 CSD tags on articles within the first moments of creation. And yet you have continued to do so. I see today that you have again placed A7 tags on articles -- one within the first minute of tagging. This is considered to be against the behavioral guidelines for Wikipedia editors as explained as Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. I direct your attention once again to the advice for WP:CSD: Consensus has developed that in most cases articles should not be tagged for deletion under this criterion moments after creation as the creator may be actively working on the content; though there is no set time requirement, a ten-minute delay before tagging under this criterion is suggested as good practice. Please do not mark the page as patrolled prior to that suitable delay passing, so that the wait does not result in the article escaping review at a later time. I appreciate your diligence in reviewing the articles at NPP, but please request one more time that you wait ten minutes before reviewing and tagging any new article (that doesn't require immediate removal such as copyvio, attack or vandalism pages). Thank you. CactusWriter (talk) 16:26, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

PJ Masks page

Hello,

I've been trying to update and correct some information on the Pjmasks show page and as it's my first time, I've been making several attempts. I know it was a little bit messy during few minutes but my intention was not to make vandalism. When I finally succeed to put everything in place, I've discovered your message and the fact that you conceled all my changes. Once again, it was not vandalism and sorry if I've been clumsy by changing things in editing section but when I've finished, everything was in order and the information were rights — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.31.210.156 (talk) 16:10, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for explaining. It just looked like you were randomly removing info, which does happen. In the future, these incidents could be avoided by using an edit summary. Happy editing! -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 17:26, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

I wrote "Not yet finished!". Don't you have better things to do then interfere in the creation of articles, that are not yet finished? -Dan Holsinger (talk) 19:05, 19 December 2015 (UTC)

Where the hell did you write not finished yet?! -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 19:06, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
In the "View history" section of the page. You better look close before doing your overzealous actions. -Dan Holsinger (talk) 19:15, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
You really need to put it somewhere more obvious that than. Try a {{New page}}, {{In creation}} or {{Under construction}} template. Or even better, use your userspace. As it is, there's a backlog of unpatrolled new pages. I can't look left, right and up before making a single edit to a new page: people will make new pages faster than they get reviewed. -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 00:41, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
Also, please don't remove maintenance templates simple because you intend to fix the problem. The templates are there to A) notify viewers that the page has problems that make it not 100% trustworthy, and B) help draw people to the page to fix its problems. If you have hidden categories enabled, you'd notice that those templates add pages they're on to maintenance categories. People use these to find pages with problems quickly and help fix the problems. -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 00:57, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

Burgalese Pointer

What you try to mean, that i have to create and develope better the article? i will try. this dog breed is one of the most important and old of the gun dogs in europe. just read about it. By the way, i didnt create this article, this article has been a couple of years in wikipedia in english. Delete all i dont think that is the best idea.--Vvven (talk) 15:15, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

A better name is Burgalese Pointer that literally means "Perdiguero de Burgos" as is its native name. If was "Burgos Pointer" should means "Perdiguero Burgos" that in Spanish has not complete sense.. (in neither of both names there many references on internet--Vvven (talk) 15:22, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. I was confused. I thought Burgos Pointer and Burgalese Pointer were two different articles. Now that I look more closely, you were copying Burgos Pointer and pasting it at Bugalese Pointer, then redirecting the former to the latter. Don't do that. This is whats referred to as a "cut and paste move." It breaks the page history and does other confusing things. If you are trying to move them, use the move page tool under the page tab. That said, due to page history, you won't be able to do that for this case. If you really need to move Burgos Pointer to Burgalese Pointer, request speedy deletion for Bugalese Pointer under CSD G6, and explain that you are wanting to move Burgos Pointer there. However, it is unlikely that this is what you should do. When I look up Burgalese Pointer on Google, the first four results I get say Burgos Pointer. This means that the most common name is Burgos Pointer, and that this is where the page should be (see WP:COMMONNAME). If you look in the page history for Burgalese Pointer, you see that it is where the page originally was, and that it was moved to Burgos Pointer. You can change Burgos Pointer so that it mentions that it is also called Burgalese Pointer, but probably nothing more. And one other thing: if you try and change the English language so that it translates from other languages perfectly, you're never going to get anywhere. -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 15:36, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

ok man, only for the little knowlegde about move or delete pages as in this case, i will left it ther as is now, but not because i consider that i should. thanks for a help again in wikipedia, but try of complete your edits, dont left to halfs, because that give to think at the moment that you are just trolling.--Vvven (talk) 15:42, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

Apple Scrumptious

Hello. I was trying to make the Apple Scrumptious page similar to this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz_(apple). Why is mine going to be deleted? Thanks.

I'll say that I'm not particularly fond of Jazz (apple) either, but it's better than Apple Scrumptious. Its tone is less promotional. "Frost hardy" has a promotional connotation to it: "well suited to winter" would be better. "Aromatic" is so highly opinionated that it can't really be included. Including external links in the middle of articles like you did for Hugh Ermen is a no-go. It seems like you're promoting whatever it is you're linking to. -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 12:50, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

only admin can

You lack the authority to delete an article and redirect it, only admins can do it. However you are welcome to tag the articles with various deletion templates. Poems of borns (talk) 04:28, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

I was aware of that, I believe the other person was confused by the speedy deletion template. -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 12:50, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
I have noticed u revert lot of things back to redirects which is nothing but deletion, and you area not authorised to do it. I suggest you use a speedy deletion template instead. Poems of borns (talk)
It's not the same. The main difference is how easily it can be undone. When reverting to a redirect, literally anyone can simply hit the undo button. With deletion, it hides all the revisions, and only an admin can revert that. That said, I'll start using AfD if there hasn't been one already. -©2016 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 15:02, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
On speedy deletion, admin can either delete revisions or simply undo to redirect the article back. I would still say reverting to redirect is a bad practice by you. Please use speedy deletion template or AFD if your edit is reverted once, because it is NOT a simple edit revert when you revert an article to a redirect.. And also WP:3R doesnt apply in this case. Lavoltidine/loxtidine

Hello. Sorry for this (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lavoltidine&type=revision&diff=699466320&oldid=355618321) edit, I'm just trying to move loxtidine page to lavoltidine, because lavoltidine is an established INN of this compound. I left a request to move here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Loxtidine. --vaccinationist (talk|edits) 15:22, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Okay, so the correct thing to do is request that the redirect be speedily deleted. In this case, use {{db-move}}, and make sure to use all the parameters. Than, an admin will delete the redirect and move the page you want to move there using the move page tool, which is the correct way to do that. -©2016 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 16:41, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Christoffer Rodolphe van Tulleken

A tag has been placed on Christoffer Rodolphe van Tulleken, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Quantum thermodynamic(s)

Hi Compassionate727,

Sorry for not commenting the edit. "Quantum thermodynamic" (without "s" at the end) as word does to my knowledge not exist, only as an adjective. The appropriate article is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_thermodynamics (which had a long discussion about redirect or deletion, as it was previously used as a coatrack. However, the article has in meantime been improved substantially, and reflects mainstream physics.). Therefore, no need for a redirect using a wrong word, the redirect can be safely deleted. The article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_thermodynamics should be kept however.

Oh, okay. That said, Quantum thermodynamic should probably redirected to Quantum thermodynamics as a redirect from singular. -©2016 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 14:57, 13 January 2016 (UTC)

Given the improvement to the article and the arguments noted at the AfD, and to allow efforts to be focused on more important areas, would you consider saving everyone some time and simply withdrawing this AfD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2000 Princeton Tigers football team?
