  1. why are you removing marati script..rajni's mother tongue is marati..you should know this fact.
  2. you are adding an opinion in the lead about bollywood..wikipedia is an encyclopedia not your blogpage..
  3. bharatanatyam may be originated from tamilnadu..but it is widely used in both tamilnadu and karnataka states ..so both scripts are added, dont remove it again. - CS2020 (talk) 13:02, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

  1. 'rajnikant' is most commonly used name..so marati script is added ,it is wikipedia standard. you should not remove it again.
  2. you can write in your own words..do not copy paste from any copyrighted website..

'time' website clearly says ""Your use of the Web Site does not grant to you ownership of any content, code, data or materials you may access on or through the Web Site.""

    also see

you should follow the wikipedia rules..

  3. you dont understand basic knowledge of wikipedia..bharatanatyam is mainly used in tamilnadu and karnataka... - CS2020 (talk) 15:09, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please STOP

edit

Stop vandalising the Bollywood article with your nonsense additions of false and badly written text. It is considered vandalism. If you continue to do that, you will be BLOCKED from editing. ShahidTalk2me 18:16, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

User:Shshshsh happens to be one of the veterans on Bollywood related articles on here. PLease refrain from making edits in a way that would portray his act of protection as vandalism. I'll assume good faith for now but be warned, if you edit in a way that is disruptive to existing articles and not constructive and you repeat this on a number of occasions in quick succession you will be blocked sooner or later you have my word. I'm assuming good faith rather than vandalism for now. The opening sentence of the article is very misleading. In modern cinema Bollywood certainly does not refer to Indian cinema generally. This is a common misconception that is false. Bollywood inherently means Hindi-language cinema these days produced in Mumbai. Mumbai previously known as Bombay is precisely the reason why Bollywood was given its name. If you coin that it refers or referred to the whole industry in the opening lines it will seriously affect the understanding of the article. Note. Bollywood was used to describe the whole Indian film industry many decades ago by westerners who had no awareness of its other film industries, or when some of the other industries were in their infancy in India. This is only a western viewpoint and if you look at it from an Indian persepective then the statement that it once referred to the whole industry is not a balanced or indeed an accurate one.

My point exactly. "westerners still think Bollywood refers to, or once referred to Indian cinema". A western view of an industry most know little about is not relevant particularly when it is an inaccurate viewpoint. It is a view, not a solid fact that does nothing to improve an understanding of the true meaning of the article. An encyclopedia should refrain from "views" and stick to "facts".

The industries of Indian cinema are shown below

Bollywood is HINDI cinema, it always was, it will always be - whatever you may think. Your source proves nothing!!! ShahidTalk2me 18:41, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

www.authorstream.com is not a reliable source. The 6 million people is an estimate anyway rather than a fact and refers to the whole Indian cinema industry not Bollywood. Bollywood is the largest yes, but Tamil and telugu cinema is also watched by millions in various parts of India. I don't see what the problem is given that the article states that is often wrongly used to refer to Indian cinema.Believe it or not we have better things to do than to keep reverting your edits. ♦ Dr. Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:25, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't care about authorstream. Delete it. I reverted because of the Bollywood is the largest industry in terms of films. --ComingPresident (talk) 19:27, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

PLease refrain from yelling at me in capital letters it won't solve anything. I was patiently trying to discuss what the problem was with you and while we were speaking you continued to revert to the point I've now requested that the page is blocked from editing for a week. This block would have been easily avoidable of you had not touched the article before discussing it fully with me first and other editors concerned. In future if you have a problem with it please discuss it through rationally first so we can reach an agreement on it. As it stands you'll need to find a more reliable site than businessweek.com. NY Times source etc... ♦ Dr. Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Bollywood is one of the largest film producers in the world and the largest in terms of number of films produced". The first part is definitely correct ("Bollywood [Hindi Cinema] is one of the largest film producers in the world"), and there are thousand sources to support the claim. The second part - no - it's not correct. Bollywood - Hindi Cinema - is not the largest, and yes, I am aware that people confuse Bollywood with the whole cinema of India. That's why it is clearly mentioned in the introduction - "Bollywood is only a part of the Indian film industry". ShahidTalk2me 19:55, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
