Speedy deletion nomination of Portal:African American

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Portal:African American requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. January 2020

Hello, I'm Muboshgu. Your recent edit to the page Starlin Castro appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:37, 3 January 2020 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 4

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Charlie Dick, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Linotype (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:30, 4 January 2020 (UTC)

Your thread has been archived

Hi ColinBear! You created a thread called Article Draft at Wikipedia:Teahouse, but it has been archived because there was no discussion for a few days. You can still find the archived discussion here. If you have any additional questions that weren't answered then, please create a new thread.

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages now require direct sources for additions. For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Almost all new additions without references are now being reverted on-sight.

Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.

Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 03:46, 10 January 2020 (UTC)

MLS mascots

Hi, I saw you added citation needed tags to a few MLS mascots. However, all MLS mascots are cited by the citation at the top of the section (after "Major League Soccer") so there is no need to add separate cites for each mascot. I kept existing ones in place once I added that, but there's no need to add new ones. Smartyllama (talk) 19:41, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

I have a source but the thing is, I don’t know how to cite something that is not a visual edit. (Which I can’t do on templates) ColinBear (talk) 00:10, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Never mind, they just released that the death was misreported and that the person didn’t actually die. ColinBear (talk) 00:11, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Recent edits about possible WV COVID-19 death

Your recent edits in several WP articles about there being a COVID-19 death in West Virginia are unsupported by any reliable refs. Please provide a ref frokm a reliable source or sources for this asserted death. Shearonink (talk) 00:07, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

I've done some research and it appears your claim is in error - please see WVVA story, CORRECTION (WVNS story), and WVNS article so I am reverting your changes. Shearonink (talk) 00:14, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
Ditto for Delroy Washington. InedibleHulk (talk) 14:07, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Ethan Greenidge

Hello, ColinBear. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Ethan Greenidge".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! DannyS712 (talk) 10:01, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:52, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi ColinBear. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. - TNT 💞 02:08, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

deletion

hey yo i just wanted to add walle a singer to the page walle. but he said add it in disambiguation but there was no walle disambiguation so i made one. i didnt hurt anyone if you want citation you could add his song eba eba by google searching why delete my page? Atheistbisexual (talk) 13:45, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

I added a CSD tag because the page disambiguates to 1 existing Wikipedia article (Walle), which meets G14 of the Criteria for Speedy Deletion. I'd suggest you create a page for Walle the singer if you want to add him to the list. ColinBear (talk - contribs) 14:00, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

2021 SIU Edwardsville Cougars men's soccer team

I just spent five weeks (yes, 35 days) in the hospital.

I was unable to work on 2021 SIU Edwardsville Cougars men's soccer team (or anything else) during that time.

I went to the page to update and discovered that User:GauchoDude had replaced the entire article of nearly 18,700 characters with a redirect, apparently without making any effort to discover why the page was idle.

I have been unable to revert his work, and you have now returned it to a redirect.... If you can return the original article, I would appreciate it, since my brain seems to currently be working at far less than optimum performance... I requested that User:GauchoDude do this, but he has not replied. GWFrog (talk) 14:14, 15 September 2021 (UTC)

I'm sorry for any trouble I may have caused you, I wasn't aware that you were trying to return the original article. I will revert the redirect. ColinBear (talk - contributions) 14:21, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
