Speedy deletion of Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King

edit

A tag has been placed on Scooby-Doo and the Goblin King requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi
Not much to say, you already identified the problems with the Scooby-Doo-article on my talk page: Unless you have verifiable, notable information about a film that hasn't been released yet, Wikipedia shouldn't have an article about it, since it's by definition not encyclopaedic. See Wikipedia:NFF#Future films, incomplete films, and undistributed films.
Furthermore, the text from the dvd box is almost definitely not in the public domain or otherwise compatible with the GFDL, so it can't be just pasted into Wikipedia. It violates the author's copyright.

Please help giving warnings to vandals

edit

Recently you reverted vandelism by HChRmD1, to America's Next Top Model, Cycle 13, but did not give a warning and that user's talk page. When vandals are given warnings, they are aware that they are being watched, and can be blocked from editing, if they continue vandalizing articles. I have given the appropriate warning this time, but it would be helpful, if you would do so, when you revert vandalism in the future. Thank you for your diligence in keeping vandalism out of Wikipedia. ... MistyWillows talk 19:06, 14 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
