Please keep Carlos Caban Cruz for those of us who are proudly SF and also MACVSOG vets to check out. Believe me, that your deletion will be mild next to what I have a gut feeling he deserves. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lumper20 (talkcontribs) 16:31, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Carlos Caban Cruz edit

Greetings! I see you've done a lot of additions to the Carlos Caban Cruz article. There is one critical item missing, though: reliable sources. No source is presented to back up anything in the article. Can you provide some magazine articles and the like which will verify the information in the article? Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 00:17, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, C.Fred! Did you view the external link to http://www.impre.com/laopinion/noticias/la-california/2008/11/12/honran-a-los-veteranos-92426-1.html. You can also contact the U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security. cognitonium (talk) 05:01, 19 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re your message: Sorry, but I can not accept any documents from you nor am I interested in receiving any documents. As I explained to you in my previous message, in order for an article about a person to remain on Wikipedia, you need to establish the person's notability with citations from reliable sources. If you have an issue with the deletion of the article, you may bring up the issue at deletion review, though I believe that you will find that my deletion of the article (the second deletion) was proper. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:58, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Re your message: Newspaper articles may be used as citations using the appropriate templates. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:57, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Re your message: There are many different templates for different types of media sources. Please see the documentation for their proper use. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:17, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

More about Mr. Cruz edit

Dear Mr. Cog:

Mr. Cruz is a fraud and a charlatan. His uniform is ample proof of this, though it may not be apparent to a layman. Any genuine special operations soldier can tell at a single glance that the man has a very rich fantasy life.

Mr. Cruz has been referred to the POW Network, and further referrals to the US Attorney's Office in his jurisdiction and to the Inspector General's Office of the Veteran's Administration are under way. It is our intent to see that Mr. Cruz is prosecuted to the full extent of the law under Stolen Valor statutes. To phrase it very simply, it is a violation of Federal law to wear unearned badges, rank, and accoutrements. Mr. Cruz very stupidly permitted himself to be photographed on multiple occasions in public venues doing exactly this. In the event that Mr. Cruz is receiving VA benefits which were granted to him based on his fantasies, it is our intention to obligate the VA to seek financial redress to the fullest extent of the law.

Please be advised that the photograph of Mr. Cruz in the LA Opinion article to which you refer in your reply to C. Fred above, is simply one more arrow in our quiver. It does not legitimize Mr. Cruz. In fact, it is just one more piece of evidence of his misconduct, and it is our intention to ensure that he is prosecuted under as many separate counts of Stolen Valor violations as we can document.

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia, and have a very SF Day.

Proposed deletion of File:CarlosCabanCruzPOWMedal.jpg edit

The file File:CarlosCabanCruzPOWMedal.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
