Hello, I'm Ferret. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014 video game) because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. (talk) CGM has been around for four years, and is sold across Canada. Did you actually check the publication before removing anything? We were merely adding to what was already said. I'm sorry, I don't see how you can deem "Hardcore Gamer" as reliable, but CGM as not. We'd be happy to send you an issue if you'd like.

I did, however I cannot write anything as I have an autoblock now. I'm not trying to be confrontational, I'm just trying to make sense of it.

Wikipedia is based on reliable sources which have a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. IGN has established itself in the industry as a major reliable source for video game news and reviews. Hardcore Gamer Magazine was founded by someone who has over 20 years experience in the games journalism industry. Not much discussion has been had on the reliability of Hardcore Gamer Magazine, but it does appear to be reliable. I'm not sure CGMag has really established itself in the industry at this time. Things that would show a reputation: having an independent reliable source write an article about CGMag and/or CGMag's staff, having the magazine or its writers win a recognized industry award, or having other independent reliable sources use CGMag as a source (I often see this when smaller publications get good scoops that larger pubs then have to pick up by citing the small publications). If a number of these things can be shown, then a discussion could be had at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Sources where we discuss new sources. If a new source is found reliable, it could then be used as a source throughout Wikipedia. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. --Odie5533 (talk) 17:45, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

(talk) Thank you, you've been helpful. I actually have been cited by other sources. Just trying to find it now. One of our editors has worked in the industry for over 20 years as well. His name is Wayne Santos, and I will definitely bring up these points over on that link. I would also like to know if there is a contact for a complaint department. Looking over at what Ferret said in the other talk, I believe him taking pleasure in banning me for merely asking questions was pretty unprofessional.

As for our reputation, I've gathered some data, and will present it to the board that referred me to. But I cannot, because I am still blocked.

Ferret did not ban you (he can't ban people; he's not an admin). Sorry your first foray into Wikipedia has been so troublesome, but as you can imagine there are a lot of spammers that come on here, and continuing to add spam to articles after repeated warnings usually results in a block. If you want to discuss the comments of another user you should probably bring any evidence you have to the ANI thread Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Comics_and_Gaming_Magazine. Before doing so, it might be a good idea to take a break from Wikipedia for at least 30 minutes or so and then re-read the comments, and keep in mind that most of the people here are not professional encyclopedia writers or encyclopedia editors, only unpaid volunteers. --Odie5533 (talk) 18:09, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

I don't really understand why I got a ban, I didn't post anything after you told me to stop. I understand you guys are mostly volunteers. I understand that because of that professionalism isn't always going to be great. But saying how it's fun that we got banned in a discussion I can't defend myself in is unprofessional as a volunteer or paid. You actually were not directly blocked. When Brendon was blocked (As he continued to add links after several notices to stop), you were automatically blocked due to sharing IPs with him.
