The need for sources edit

Hello CodaThePortalMaster. I ran across your edits via the Recent changes page. Unfortunately, your edit to Remington Model 870 didn't meet Wikipedia's policies, so I have reverted it. Specifically, you need to cite a source for the claim you added to the article. All information on Wikipedia should be verifiable, so you should support the material you add with reliable, independent sources, such as books, newspaper or magazine articles, or reputable websites with editorial oversight. Take a look at this page for info about how to cite sources in Wikipedia's format. Hope this helps, and happy editing! Howicus (Did I mess up?) 03:19, 3 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Franz Pfannl edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Franz Pfannl requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Sources again edit

As Howicus pointed out above, you should read WP:RS. (I don't hide the policy links behind other words because I want people to see that they are policy links...) Wikipedia is not a reliable independent source, but can be used for wikilinking things in articles - like pistol which is typed in as [[pistol]] - but those are links not references.
