Shared IP addresses: Idea edit

I have an idea regarding the way that ClueBot NG should display it's messages if the users are anonymous. After the signature, I think there should be a small message about the details that other users who did not make the edits should ignore the message that ClueBot NG posted to the IP's talkpage. Template-protected edit request on 6 January 2021: message wording edit

Hello all, and thanks for your work on ClueBot. A comment from an incorrigible proofreader, if I may: Template:uw-cluebotwarning1 currently produces the wording ...one or more of your recent edits to x has been.... As one or more is plural, the wording should read ...one or more of your recent edits to x have been... (as it does in {{uw-vandalism1}}, for example). Template-protected edit request on 28 January 2022 edit

Hello.

Since this template is currently template-protected, I request the following:

Change the wording of “undone” to “reverted”.

The reason being because ClueBot NG does not use the undo tool.

In wikitext, it should look like this:

…automatically reverted by an automated computer program called [[User:ClueBot NG|ClueBot NG]]. …

Thank you. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS — 00:58, 28 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

  •   Not done for now. "Undone" does not exclusively mean "used the undo tool". It can also mean, well... undone. And a case could be made that "undone" is both a friendlier and more understandable word than "reverted". Maybe a consensus of editors would find otherwise, but I think some level of discussion is needed to make this change. I would suggest cross-posting to User talk:ClueBot Commons and Wikipedia talk:Template index/User talk namespace and asking for feedback in this thread. If a consensus emerges to change "undone" to "reverted", feel free to reactivate this request. Thanks. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 01:13, 28 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
