Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Kerberos-panzer-cop-conclusion-panel-jager.png edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Kerberos-panzer-cop-conclusion-panel-jager.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:17, 1 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Gran turismo 5 prologue pack.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Gran turismo 5 prologue pack.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:01, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Tachiguishibook.png edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tachiguishibook.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for Image:Tachiguishiposter.png edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tachiguishiposter.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Speedy deletion of ·Driving Force GT edit

A tag has been placed on ·Driving Force GT requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ninety:one 15:57, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Master Chief (Halo) edit

No, the article doesn't belong to me, but as you have not provided any evidence to sway the arguments of those on the talk page, consensus is against you. Continuing to add back in the information could lead to a block. The burden is on you to provide reliable sources to prove the mod is notable; so far you have not. Read the relevant policies. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 20:52, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

bullshit again i have given evidences the mod is notable, it was already talked in the discussion page and an editor agreed the paragraph was ok. the consensus is actually against you but you seems to believe the article belongs to you removing paragraphs you don't like despite reliable sources demonstrating the mod thing is huge and at least relevant. so continuing to remove the information could lead to a block. Resolution Updates edit

Hello. I appreciate what you're doing, updating all games articles with HD resolutions, but please keep an eye open for existing resolution sections, such as Haze (video game), as these sometimes describe how a game actually runs at a lower resolution (576p in Haze's case) - you put in that it runs at 720p, which is untrue. Thanks! Fin© 09:45, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

the game actually runs in 1280x720p@60hz on hdtvs not in sd resolution (as of halo 3). as you can see. don't let the forum hype fools you. is it really working on 576p on your tv? Cliché Online (talk) 09:51, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
by the way seems you have the xbox, how do you know the correct resolution for a ps3 game? Cliché Online (talk) 10:05, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was going by this article, which I think it better than anecdotal evidence. Also, just because I play Xbox Live doesn't mean I don't have a PS3. Thanks! Fin© 10:13, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
As an aside, I think you should reference when you state a game runs in 1080p (such as here), anecdotal evidence isn't good enough (especially after your assertion of Haze). Oh, and I'm not sure about this, but is it a good idea to add Dual Shock 3 to games that don't explicitly support the rumble (though I'm not too sure if Lair does or doesn't)? Maybe it is, I don't know. Thanks! Fin© 10:23, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
i know about the 576p upscale stuff the thing is the game does not run in 576p but in 720p so who cares except haters and fanboys? since you have edited the ninja gaiden 2 and halo articles why don't you have corrected the so called "native resolution" which is SD in both games (look)? ninja gaiden sigma is not 720p but 1080p that's why i have corrected the article. when games are noted as 1080p but are 720p i did the same, it doesn't matter as long as it is the truth. i told you my tv keep the original resolution of ps3 games. show me pictures of your tv to compare the results if you think there's a problem. about sixaxis vs dual shock i put dual shock in the input since sixaxis are discontinued and dual shock have built-in sixaxis as you know (or not). so tell me how does haze run on your tv? is it 576p or 720p? Cliché Online (talk) 10:59, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hello. I've corrected the Halo 3 article, I didn't realise it was incorrect. Forums aren't a reliable source, so I can't really change the Ninja Gaiden one based on it. If you have one, feel free to change it. You can't just say "ninja gaiden is not 720p but 1080p", you have to back it up - I'll just repeat again, anecdotal evidence is not a reliable source. Fair enough about Dual Shock 3/Sixaxis, I knew DS3 included it, I was just making sure that was your logic. I don't own Haze, but even if I did, it would output in 720p, but it would be upscaled from 576p. Just like Halo is upscaled to 1080p, or whatever. If you look at the GTA 4 article, you'll see the PS3 resolution is listed as 640p - it doesn't output in 640p, it's upscaled from that to 720 etc. Thanks! Fin© 11:30, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
who cares about these resolutions? what cares is the actual output (without upscale) is it? my ps3 cannot output 576p since it is ntsc so it outputs 480p. 576 is the PAL aspect wich is incompatible with the NTSC 480. how can haze be displayed on non-576p tvs please? if my tv was upscaling all games would be 1080p but they just aren't so... haze is 720p, not 576p. if it was upscaled it would be 1080p. >> haze is in 720p.

Cliché Online (talk) 11:36, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

You're completely missing the point. The source code of Haze can be 576p, but the game itself can be programmed to automatically output in 720p. Saying it does so does not mean the source is 720p. Articles should include the base resolution, from the actual game source. That source originally comes from a forum, and is therefore unreliable - there's a few articles I think you should read - the wikipedia article on what constitutes a reliable source, what constitutes a verifiable source and the article on video scaling. Thanks! Fin© 11:43, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
What I'm trying to say is that the source code of Haze defines it as 576p. The source of Halo defines it as 640p. This does not mean they output in these resolutions, it means these are the original resolutions, what would be displayed without scaling. Like you say, NTSC tvs can not support 576p, I don't know if any tvs support 640p, and so, they are upscaled to 720p as a default. Just because they display in 720p does not mean it is the original, unscaled, resolution. Thanks! Fin© 11:50, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
yes some tv outputs 640p (i'll post you an ad i saw today - EDIT: no this a 640x480 TV not a 640). as long as it doesn't concern the actual output i don't think the native resolution is a relevant info then but should be replaced by aspect ratio or something. Cliché Online (talk) 11:54, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
hey did you read it? this is not a random forum but a haze developer talking on an official Q&A. look again. haze developer talking: "From some other comments I read, I wanted to clarify that the game runs at 720p resolution." Cliché Online (talk) 12:00, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Look, you don't understand. Running at and upscaled to are the same thing. For a developer to say "it runs at 720p", that doesn't mean it runs unscaled at 720p. In fact, the developer is correct - from the Eurogamer article: "He revealed the resolution as 576p and not 720p, which leaves the PS3 with the task of upscaling the image.". Convention (GTA IV, Halo 3) is to include the original resolutions, if they're lower than 720p. Hence, Haze should include 576p, as this is the original, unscaled resolution. Oh, and I missed the original post, I just read the talk playstation one you gave, which implied it was a forum. Thanks! Fin© 12:18, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also, I'm unaware of the PS3 situation, but all games on 360 are upscaled to 1080p, if that's the base resolution selected. Thanks! Fin© 12:22, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
why the game is not directly upscaled to 1080p instead of 720p (tv keep 720p and don't upscale it to full hd)? by the way we don't know the native resolution for all games but a few of them (halo3, ninja gaiden 2, haze etc.) so the native resolution info is irrelevant. ps3 games boxes mention the compatible resolutions somehow (NTSC, 480p, 720p, 1080p or PAL, 576p, 720) which is a relevant info to the wikipedia readers because they know how will it be actually displayed. who cares about the game code's display (576p, 640p) that no one will see (due to 720p upscale)? the native resolution links to the display aspects, i think we should keep using the "NTSC, 480p, 720p, 1080p" instead of 640p. what do you think? Cliché Online (talk) 12:34, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
i knew it you don't have a ps3 but an xbox, haha thats ok. well things are different on the ps3 it keep the "original" output (ie 720 not 1080). Cliché Online (talk) 12:34, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
This is the last time I'm going to post here, I'm sick of arguing with you, I'm getting nowhere and you're just becoming uncivil (with your accusation of sockpuppetry). Anyway, yet again, please read the wikipedia article on sources; video scaling; native resolution and maybe display resolution. The native resolution of Haze is 576p, but it runs at (and is upscaled to) 720p. The resolution field in the videogame infobox expands to "Native resolution", so 576p should be the one used. Thanks! June 2008 edit

Regarding your comments on Talk:Haze (video game): Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Your recent edits have been quite uncivil, including accusations of sockpuppetry, which appear to be completely out of place and out of line in the content discussion on that page. Please remember to assume good faith on the part of other editors.KieferSkunk (talk) — 22:05, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

are you kidding why me? this guy personally attacked me calling me hypocrital and stuff. so why posting this warning to me and let him go? Cliché Online (talk) 07:13, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Because you have been very consistently calling other editors (not just Falcon) "idiots" and such - you did it to me without any provocation, and your talk page history above shows that you have also been rude to other editors in the past who have given you warnings. (Calling a blocking admin an asshole is not a good way to endear yourself to the community - if you get blocked for incivility again, it will be for a longer period of time, and it will be far less likely that your block will be overturned.)
You need to improve your attitude, Cliche. I refrained from issuing a warning to Falcon because he has already acknowledged that he's stepped over the line, and he appears to be working to curb it. Given the tensions between you two, it's not surprising that he doesn't feel prepared to apologize to you for his comment, and I frankly don't blame him. I think he deserves to see a good-faith effort from you to work constructively on this. You don't have to agree, but you must refrain from calling other people idiots and accusing them of being biased against the PS3 just because they don't happen to agree with your point of view. When you start doing that (especially right out of the gate like it appears from the discussion on Talk: Haze (video game)), you come across as being a tendentious editor, POV pushing, exerting ownership over the article, and being a dick.
Remember, attack the content, not the editors. Clean it up or be prepared to have this escalated. (Consider this your Level 3 warning.) — KieferSkunk (talk) — 15:44, 18 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
fuck you animal! remember this shit yourself, who do you think you are coming here with warnings and talking about "being a dick". the other editors you are defending are claiming ownership over the article and are agenda pushing and they attacked me in the first place. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Lair trial version.png) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Lair trial version.png.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:11, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gross incivility block edit

You have been blocked for a period of 1 week from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for attempting to harass other users. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 18:24, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Additional note (admins considering reversing the block, please read): This block is specifically for your grossly uncivil comments in Talk:Haze (video game), this talk page, and User talk:KieferSkunk, and even more specifically because of this comment, which included language that I interpreted as a threat of physical violence. I have posted a notice to WP:ANI about your behavior and have suggested that a longer-term or indefinite block may be warranted. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 18:36, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

BTW, I have been informed that it is bad practice to reference WP:DICK when discussing an editor's incivility. So in fairness, I apologize for using that in my earlier warnings. This does not excuse your behavior or your response, but I do feel an apology on that specific point is in order. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 18:55, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
So he did the same thing you did (by cussing and such) yet gets blocked...Ghost109 (talk) 00:43, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:Battle_fantasia.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Battle_fantasia.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:44, 24 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 15:44, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Demo Tape (Interpol EP) edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Demo Tape (Interpol EP), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fair use rationale for Image:Macross plus movie restored.png edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Macross plus movie restored.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Image copyright problem with Image:Macross frontier promo 12 2007.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Macross frontier promo 12 2007.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Unspecified source/license for Image:Gt by citroen paris motor show 2008 by tauma.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Gt by citroen paris motor show 2008 by tauma.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. Redirect of H&K PSG1 edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on H&K PSG1, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because H&K PSG1 is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting H&K PSG1, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Killzone 2/MGS4 edit

Hello again. First of all, the comparison between Killzone 2's 1080i and Resistance/Gears is irrelevant. They all run at 1080i, there's no need to point that out in the article unless there's been coverage of Killzone 2's initial 720p resolution. There's no reason to make comparisons - it's the same as saying "Killzone 2 runs on PS3, like it's competitor Resistance 2" - it adds nothing to the article, if people want to know the resolutions of other games they can go to the respective pages. Secondly, saying something "is" (eg MGS4's native res is 1080p) is not enough. You have to back it up with a reliable, verifiable source. Please read the source articles I've just linked to and don't change MGS4's native res to 1080p unless you can support it. Just to reiterate: Anecdotal evidence is not a reliable source. Thanks! Fin© 19:09, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

stop your bullshit you don't have the ps3 nor mgs4 nor killzone 2 and not even a full hd 1080p (but a mere hd ready tv), i have both you don't, i don't have to waste my time with xbox fankids like you. Cliché Online (talk) 19:50, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is my final attempt to explain what a verifiable source is.
The back of the box is not a WP:V source.
What your TV displays is not a WP:V source.
What you say is not a WP:V source.
"The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth"
"Articles should rely on reliable, third-party published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy."
Unless you can provide exactly that (a third-party published source that's known to be accurate) do not add back 1080p to MGS4.
Thanks! Fin© 14:10, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I have 2 new sources to bring on the table here and there, YOU HAVE NONE. do no change the 1080p fact to your 720p false information unless you have a third party source, you have brought nothing by the way. Cliché Online (talk) 14:29, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
