Responses on Notability of a religious history of a minority group (Korean Americans). clayjar (talk) 18:56, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sounds notable, with so many churches and references. You should have theology there in the longer term, as that is important for completeness. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:45, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
You're right. I guess I'd have to delve into it after all. I just felt it to be little hairy with all its intricacies, since any differences from major theological thoughts would be considered somewhat trivial and not so notable, but I guess they also need to be included for complete coverage. clayjar (talk) 04:09, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Starting out on Wikipedia with a new article edit

Starting out on Wikipedia with a new article is not a good idea. I don't know what you have done so far, but I would suggest that you hone your editing skills on existing articles, and watch the various entries about new articles in the help pages, especially those that are deleted right away. I am sympathetic to your topic, but I want you to succeed by having enough experience on Wikipedia. My first article was a disambiguation page, and although I have reached 1,000 edits, I am just now starting to polish three more new articles in my sandbox. Learn how to create sandbox pages, and put sections of existing articles there to learn how to improve them without changing the "live" articles. Go ahead and look at my sandbox3 articles, if you like, to see the development of five articles, which are now approaching the stage of being made active articles. --DThomsen8 (talk) 14:30, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Take a look at David Kim as an example of an article on a Korean American professional, which I have improved by adding a line about his residence and family, with an inline citation created at http://toolserver.org/~magnus/makeref.php and a correction to the BLP template at the top. I found David Kim on a List of Korean Americans but I picked him because I knew he was the concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra. --DThomsen8 (talk) 15:05, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your helpful suggestions and that link to the reference generator! I have been intermittently editing pages, and I'm starting to create new ones as sandboxes. I will ask for your inputs once I get some more substantial outline done as well as the research needed. clayjar (talk) 00:33, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
