Ren Sohma

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. More information needed about File:Burnt Moby Prince.jpg

Hello, Clay!

It was really helpful of you to you to upload File:Burnt Moby Prince.jpg. However, we need to properly format the image license information in order to keep and use new images.

If you can edit the description and add one of these templates, that would be great. If you're not sure how or would like some help, please ask us at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks again! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:06, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

screen appearance of Aluminium lede

Hi Clay-- I wonder what browser and/or display setting you're using that my <br> in the pronunciation looked wrong on your screen. What I see, both with Windows IE8 and with Chrome, is the top line of the lede ends with

... (American English) (

with that dangling opening parenthesis, and then the 2nd line starts with

/ˌəlˈmɪnəm/, ə-LOO-mi-nəm) [etc].

I was just trying to get the dangling opening parenthesis "(" to come down to the next line in front of the IPA speaker icon because it looked dumb sitting out there by itself. With both of my browsers, the break I had inserted made it appear as

... (American English)
(/ˌəlˈmɪnəm/, ə-LOO-mi-nəm) [etc].

Now with your revert only that one opening parenthesis goes back up to the top line again. My display is set to 1024 x 768, which I think is pretty standard. How did it - or does it now - appear on your monitor? Milkunderwood (talk) 01:54, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

I wouldn't have thought the break would appear to create a separate paragraph as opposed to just starting a new line, as on my display, but I haven't played with my own settings. Where does the line wrap occur on yours? Anyway, I'm no expert on aluminium, and don't want to mess with the actual text there, or the pronunciations. I wonder if there's an HTML function that could force the opening paren to stay with the IPA icon instead of allowing them to split - if so, this ought to solve the problem for everyone's display. Milkunderwood (talk) 02:35, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
Oh wow, I can understand the problem, then. What I see is the hatnote is the only text that can go all the way over; then the top of the infobox starting with the periodic table illustration aligns with the first line of text, cutting it off where I showed, above - so you're getting much more text on that top line than me. It was never that big of a deal, so I'm not going to fool around with it any longer. Thanks for the info. Milkunderwood (talk) 03:10, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

SPATRA reactivation

Hello Clay, I notice that you were involved in the project Wikipedia:Spanish Translation of the Week a few years ago. However I also notice that here has been very little activity since 2007. This is a project I'm particularly interested in and would love to see it revived. I've taken the bold step of identifying an article requiring translation and I'm in the process of inviting collaboration. The article History of Puerta del Sol could really use your help. In addition, I'd welcome any ideas you may have to help revive this project so that there is greater collaboration among ES>EN translators on en.Wikipedia. I'm identifying various contributors from whom the SPATRA project may benefit. If you have any recommendations then feel free to contact them directly or submit there usernames to me via my talkpage. I look forward to your participation. Gratefully - EagerToddler39 (talk) 02:22, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity

Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Request to fix edit

Hi there, I am a beginner at editing. One of your recent edits ("fixing lint errors") on the page called At-Tawba 29 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At-Tawba_29) removed my formatting of the Arabic text so that it is no longer legible from a PC and must be zoomed into from mobile devices. I had used a template resize|200% (with the double curly brackets on either side {{ ), but your edit removed that template. I don't want to re-insert the template, because I assume you removed it for good reason, but I need the Arabic script to be sized up significantly. Could you either re-visit the page to fix the issue or suggest a way for me to do so? It is much appreciated. One drop of water (talk) 10:08, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

Hi, I did a potentially temporary fix. I used a div tag to maintain the "rtl" direction of the Arabic script and specified the font size in the lang template. Gives me a font style that is not perfect, but at least the sizing and formatting are cleaned up now. No need to take the time to reply, thank you. One drop of water (talk) 20:58, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
Hey, this new size formatting works well. The original created a lint error with misnested tags, and the Arabic text looked unnecessarily large on my screen, as well. The new version looks manageably sized and does not show any lint errors. Good fix! Clay (talk) 08:09, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

includeonly in List of Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launches

Hi! You added the following change to List of Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launches twice, writing that it's needed for transclusion:

<!-- includeonly section needed for transclusion, do not delete -->

<includeonly>{{col-start}}

{{col-break}}
</includeonly>{{#invoke:Chart | bar chart

As far I can can tell, that change was in fact breaking the layout in List of Falcon 9 first-stage boosters. Everything from the "Booster landings" chart and onward ended up in a single HTML table cell, pushing all the content following that chart to the right and leaving a wide blank space on the left side of the article (I'm talking about the desktop version of the article here). That's not very surprising, since the change starts a new column without ending the previous one (i.e. the one that is started with a "{{col-start}}" right before the "Launch outcomes" chart). The "{{col-end}}" tag that follows the "Booster landings" chart then only ends the nested column, leaving the outer column unclosed and presumably extended to the end of the article. What was your intent with this change? OnceAndFutureFlopsy (talk) 20:33, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

New nomination opinions

There have been several new nominations by Joe Biden for representatives to the United Nations General Assembly. These are James E. Risch, Carol Leslie Hamilton, Andrew J. Weinstein, S. Federal judge pictures

I wanted to thank you for updating the pictures for numerous federal judges. I am one of the prolific Wikipedia users that puts their pictures up from their SJC hearing but rarely go back to see if their official judicial pictures have been updated so thank you for that. I especially want to thank for making sure the "Page preview" is still showing when you put the mouse over the link for their page so their picture shows without opening their page. Very much appreciated.

MIAJudges (talk) 22:09, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

Thank you as well for putting up the original pictures! I had forgotten about the page preview feature before reading your comment (I toggled it off at some point but have re-enabled it now), so any positive results there are purely good luck. Clay (talk) 22:52, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

Your very welcome. The judiciary is my passion so when I saw most federal judges didn't have pictures, I went back & started adding them. All of the pictures I have seen from you have the page preview which is very important so looks good to me. I'm not sure if possible but there is one Biden nominee that picture does not have a page preview, 3 Jacqueline Scott Corley. If you can fix it that would be appreciated. I was able to update every active circuit court judge with a profile picture except three. If you can find a picture & post it on their profile, that would give every active circuit court judge a picture which would be great. I'm not sure if you can find one but I'll give you the names below.

Ilana Rovner (7th) Harris Hartz (10th) Karen Henderson (DC) - I put a picture up but it's not a live picture.
