June 2013 edit

Hello, I'm Mathnerd 101. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Nichols College because it did not appear constructive. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! -Mathnerd 101 21:26, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Nichols College. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Do not remove the references section, as it disrupts the formatting of the article. If you feel that there are references that are incorrect, please correct or replace those individual references in the article text. If you do not have a better source, you can place {{dead link}} after a dead URL and just before the </ref> or {{Better source}} after the </ref> tag for a questionable source. Please review WP:LINKROT, and do not delete a URL solely because the URL does not work any longer. Thank you. --Ahecht (talk) 19:20, 20 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

If there is a reference in the references section that is a broken link, click on the ^ next to the reference, which will show you where in the article the reference was originally made. The reference will appear as a number in brackets (such as [1]) with a number matching the number in the reference list. If you edit that section you will see the reference listed between <ref> and </ref> tags. If the reference is a dead link, add {{dead link}} after the dead URL and just before the </ref>. If the reference is from a source that doesn't meet the standards of WP:VERIFY, add {{Better source}} after </ref>. All of these edits should be made in the article where the reference is originally listed, not in the references section at the end. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ahecht (talkcontribs) 19:40, 20 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
I have gone in and flagged the dead links in that article myself. If you have fixed links, please replace them in the article text and remove the {{dead link}} flag. --Ahecht (talk) 19:50, 20 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

OK, so I don't break it AGAIN - I go into the body of the article and fix those links? I just want to be sure I understand correctly. I don't mean to cause a kerfuffle here - just trying to make sure people aren't directed to 5 year old information and links that no longer work. I'm very sorry for all the confusion. Thank you for the help. Claudiasnell-nichols (talk) 19:43, 20 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yes, fix the links in the body of the article. Thanks! --Ahecht (talk) 19:51, 20 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

All set now. Thank you again for your assistance. Claudiasnell-nichols (talk) 20:13, 20 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Nichols College edit

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. August 2022 edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.
