Overall, I find this to be such an interesting topic! Your first sentence is confusing to me as a reader. I think you could break it into two sentences to keep it more concise. I also think you have a really great start. With your introduction I’m assuming you will further develop this with sources referring to modern day as well. Your sources for the ancient roman and european information is really strong and informative about an interesting topic that I don’t think everyone thinks about so in-depth.
