עליכם שלום

edit

עליכם שלום I appreciate your complement (albeit indirectly) that I have common sense. Regarding the eggs I know for a fact that at least in the past it was practiced (in New Square too) but I will take your word for it that as of today this practice is not taught to kaloth and is unknown at least to the general public of Skver. Thanks for your generosity in offering me info on Skverer minhagim. Could you remind me of a minhag in skverr to read a text every week for a few weeks in the year that the source for this minhag is in mesechet sofrim? Ortho 02:03, 7 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the info. What a perfect timing, I didn't remember it was about Purim! What does the Rebbe's son say about the eggs? You can leave you reply on your talk page so as to keep our discussion in one place (when you reply it will show up on my watchlist)

On another issue-your edit on Lipa Schmeltzer:"Many Rabbis and leaders of all Chassidc communities..." First of all the addition of the word "all" does not at all represent the truth; on the contrary, besides that only rabbis from a handful of communities actually wrote anything, there is definitely a minority of Chasidic communities (for example Chabad) that is not at all offended by his tapes. Moreover your last sentence "However, his tapes and CD's is not something that belongs in a Chassidishe Shteib (Chassidic home)" does not belong in a Wikipedia article and borders on vandalism, as does the omission of the fact that he lives in New Square. What you could write however is that many truly Chasidic people feel that his tapes and CDs do not belong in a Chassidishe Shteib. I'm sure you never intended to vandalize, you seem to be a very valuable contributor, you are probably new to Wikipedia I advise you to correct this edit.Ortho 04:20, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok Ortho, I see that someone changed Lipa's page and it looks good for me and I believe you will agree. About the eggs, you still did not provide the source how you know it for a fact. I checked on it and this is one of the absurd things people have to say about Skver. If you come to think of it how can one use eggs to wash her hair? doesn’t it make the hair sticky and makes a Chatzitzah? Please don’t believe this as a fact it is only fiction. As I understand from what you wrote in your last comment, that you are a Chabdsker. I have some Chabadske cousins, and you and I know how that there are out there many people that will always try to come up with some funny things or make silly statements about different Chasidim do your really believe all those non-sense? This is the way it was since the Baal Shem and will remain like this till Meshiach will come and it will be Umoluha H'auretz Dayuah Ess Hashem.--Chusid 17:32, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

What sorce could I give you? All I could say is that had had close conections with people who have intimate knowledge about Skver I'm obviosly not going to give names... I would very much apreciate to hear what your freind - the Rebbe's son says about it. By the way I am not a Chabadsker lo mineh v'lo miktsatheh. I only mentioned them as a chasidic group that clearly would not come out against Lipa's tapes. Ortho 04:18, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ortho, I have it on good authority that the "egg custom" you mention is pure nonsense. Lo dovim v'lo ya'ar, to use a cliche. 1. Check your sources before stating something so absurd. 2. Present it with some background info. (A reason, a source, its development, etc.) Not attempting to do so shows an inherent lack of understanding of this community. --Kotzker 02:30, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The reason would be very simple: Thats the kind of shampoo that was availible whenever this custom started.here I'm waiting to here from our host what the rebbe's son said.Ortho 04:33, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I hear you. But anyway, it's total bunk. --Kotzker 06:35, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
