April 2020

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Boston Terrier, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 18:05, 13 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

As you can see, you edit was removed from [1]. The edit summary there notes that the sentence had a grammatical error, and was unreferenced. It's good to make edits, but please make sure they are grammatically correct, and if adding new content, they are referenced.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:44, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

re: [Chunyoungryun] I chose the topic of article

edit

"Korea Delivery service" or Food delivery in South Korea is a possible topic, but remember you will need to find the topic discussed in reliable quality sources, such as newspapers, as well as academic journals and books. Did you find such topics about your proposed topic? Your article cannot be based on your own experiences, but it has to summarize existing state of knowledge, verifiable by reliable sources. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:19, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, History of Korean newspapers seems like an easier topic to write about, and it is quite important. It is a good topic and you can add it to our dashboard. For examples of similar articles, see History of American newspapers or History of Chinese newspapers. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:31, 20 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Wondong Maehwa Festival

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Wondong Maehwa Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. | Naypta opened his mouth at 14:17, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

It's a good experiment but you need to add more sources and make the article longer, otherwise it will be deleted, as the above warning notes. PS. Ping User:Naypta - can you move it the student's sandbox? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:32, 20 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Yangsan Tower

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Yangsan Tower requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Sophiajoanne (talk) 14:24, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Sophiajoanne: hi, I've removed your CSD. A1 does not apply - the subject of the article is clearly understandable, and A1 applies strictly to articles which have insufficient context to identify the subject of the article at all. The article is unreferenced, and is clearly very short, but is not suitable for an A1 CSD. Thanks! | Naypta opened his mouth at 14:30, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Oh noted. Thank you, Naypta. Sophiajoanne (talk) 14:32, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yangsan Tower moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Yangsan Tower, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. re: I finished the Wiki assignment(Deadline 3)

edit
The reference I see at Draft:History of Korean Newspapers is a good start, but the citation needs some improvement (needs ISBN, page numbers, Korean title, etc.). I'll also reply on your talk. Please reformat it with Wikipedia:Citation templates and make sure you feel in the relevant parameters. If the book is in Korean, the English title should be in the field "translated title", not title. You may want to watch the video on how to add a citation again. But it is a good start and you are halfway done! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:46, 26 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Draft:History of Korean Newspapers

edit

It's a good start, please keep on expanding it. Please make sure to add inline citations for each sentence. Your article is in the draft namespace as you started in in the regular Wikipedia namespace, instead of your sandbox (see video on sandboxes, posted recently in the Make Up Videos section on Courseweb). Your article was therefore moved from the mainspace to draft space [2] by User:Pontificalibus who as you can see in his edit summary concluded that the content you posted was 'not ready for mainspace'. In other words, your article is not yet looking like an article, even short, but it is still a draft, and so it belongs in the draft space or sandbox space. Keep expanding it and it will go back the public mainspace in few weeks, that's the goal of our project.

Also, please try to WP:SIGN your talk page posts in the future. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:03, 4 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hwamyeong station, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Geumgok-dong (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Reviewed your article!

edit

Hi I just read your article about the Korean Newspaper. I am majored in Mass Communication and Broadcasting so your article was so impressive to me. I've only known about the history of Korean Newspaper really a bit after reading your article I could get more information about that part. And I thought I can use your article for studying my major during my Uni course. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Woojin Jeong (talkcontribs) 12:54, 28 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on your project for Collective Intelligence class

edit

My apologies for missing your article during the last week's review round. Here is my feedback for Draft:History of Korean Newspapers (quote a good job so far, I expect you'll get a very good grade if you can finish the project!): 1) there are still a few paragraphs missing a citation - please add references for all paragraphs (and when necessary, sentences). 2) You should add content about more recent history, post 1945. 3) Book citations require page numbers. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:29, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your article is almost finished; after you add a section about post-1980 newspapers, please submit it for a review and then to T:TDYK for extra credit. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:09, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
