Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tommy mccook.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tommy mccook.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 10:23, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Mortifera

Hi! Yes, I was the one who deleted that article.

The rationale was pretty simple; the page didn't make any statements at all about why Mortifera is a noteworthy enough band to have an article. If it did, then other people could assess whether those statements were legit or not; as it was, failing to make any claims if notability is one of the standard criteria for speedy deletion.

But all is not lost! If you like, I can undelete the article and move it into your personal user space. You can work on it there and get it up to speed, then when you think it's ready, move it back into the encyclopedia itself. That way no one will mess around with it while you're working on it.

Let me know if you're interested. You can reply either here or at my talk page. --Masamage 21:51, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cool, done. The old article is now at User:Chulogordito/Mortifera. Work on it to your heart's content. :) Use the guideline WP:FIRST to make sure you've got everything you need, but once it's ready to go, you can just move it out to its proper location yourself. This will, however, leave behind a redirect from your userspace, so to clean that up, be sure to put the following tag on the redirect afterwards: {{db-userreq}} (then someone will come along and delete the redirect).
Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be out of town this weekend, but after that I'll be around again. Good luck! --Masamage 18:02, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
