Hi Mike, just a note that User talk:MemeGod27 has been deleted, so I'm not sure how ChristieBot will interact with it. There are a couple of user name moves going on here, so thought worth letting you know.

Thanks for the note! I will have to look at this later, but so long as any nominations are changed to the new name there should be no errors. I can connect the old and new user names on request. What's the new user's name? Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 13:15, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've updated the only nomination to the new name. There's no GA nomination under the old name, so I think everything should be fine now. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 16:27, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, apologies I didn't reply in time. I had a look at the nomination and was unsure about changing a custom signature myself. Best, CMD (talk) 02:14, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well, the bot does its best to parse weird signatures, but it doesn't actually care about them -- all it wants is to find a page link that looks like "User:<something>". So if you ever need to reset a nominator in a nomination template, just putting in the usual [[User:Fred|Fred]] will always work. Self-inflicted errors

edit

ChristieBot is transcluding some non-existent reviews [1][2] and then complaining about it, not sure why as the process to reset those seemed normal and the pages were deleted hours before. CMD (talk) 01:57, 2 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

As far as I can tell the pages were deleted after the reset, so when ChristieBot ran it could see the page existed. Looking at the code I'm not certain what it does when the old nomination exists, the status parameter has changed, and the new status is blank, but it evidently decided transclusion was necessary. I have debugging turned off for those paths, so I can't be sure of the details, but generally if the bot sees a review page exists, and it's referenced by the nomination template, it will usually want to transclude it. GA credit

edit

Yesterday, Wo Gott der Herr nicht bei uns hält, BWV 178 was reviewed for GA, but I didn't receive credit on my talk. It would be meaningful today, as it's the composer's day of death ;) -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:13, 28 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure what happened there, but several dozen articles were not fully processed, though I don't think all of them failed to get talk page messages. I've cleaned up the data, so your GA statistics here now correctly reflect the promotion. I'll have a look in the code and see if I can understand what caused this -- thanks for the ping. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 20:59, 28 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the fix, Mike, - I'd still be grateful for a talk page message because of the sentimental reason mentioned above. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:20, 29 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Bot didn't add icon

edit

Hey there, the bot didn't add {{Good article}} to "Empire of Death" (Doctor Who episode). I added it manually per the instructions at WP:GAN/I#PASS so it's been solved as of now, but I wasn't sure if it was something that needed brought up. Thanks, TheDoctorWho (talk) 05:54, 12 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

This once again hasn't happened on Twice Upon a Time (Doctor Who) Questions? four Olifanofmrtennant (she/her) 23:00, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm baffled by this; normally the bot posts an edit summary mentioning pass or fail, but in this case the nomination was silently removed from GAN. I will put this on my list of issues to follow up on. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 01:29, 15 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Removing reviews

edit

There's something which has been bugging me about my number of reviews. After this discussion about some of my reviews (which have been deleted), ChristieBot still keeps all four reviews (with the rest of my successful reviews), is there any chance to remove these four reviews from my total number? 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 11:53, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I can't check the code till this evening (I'm at work) but as I recall a deleted review remains in the database. Once another review is done with the same review number, ChristieBot marks the first one as "superseded". I don't recall if superseded reviews are included in statistics; they probably should not be. So there are two possible reasons that your stats still include them; if they've not yet been superseded, they're definitely still counted; and if they have been superseded it depends whether I pay attention to that in the statistics reporting code. I will take a look, probably this evening. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 12:14, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks. 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 12:16, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
