Roguelike

I appreciate your adding the section, by the way. Now those sources need to be integrated as citations. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 08:54, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

There is no requirement that citations be provided inline, it is a stylistic issue. If you think otherwise please provide me a link to the relevant policy - not guideline.Garrie 05:47, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't believe I said there was a requirement. There is, however, a guideline, part of the Manual of Style: WP:CITE:

"The following are the inline citation systems you can use to insert references into Wikipedia articles:

   * Embedded HTML links
   * Harvard referencing
   * Footnotes (most often using <ref> and <references/> elements)"

None of these is a stand-alone references section that makes no attempt to explain which item is being referenced. The second and third systems do use sections at the end, but they also notify the reader which source is being used, end-paragraph parentheticals for Harvard referencing and <ref> tags for footnotes.

I hope this helps. --Chris Griswold () 12:38, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

When you say ...need to be integrated... it implies, it is a requirement - my point exactly is that it is not required, just your preferred style. Mine also - but the article will evolve... Given the concensus is that the article not be deleted and you bought the article to AfD maybe you could close the discussion now? Garrie 05:47, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Very little on Wikipedia is a required. And it's not my style: It's the style put out as one of three acceptable ones in the MOS. I certainly will close the AFD discussion. I never expected it to be deleted. --Chris Griswold () 12:38, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

Hi Chris, I appreciate your concern about removing bogus information from the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood article. I'm a big fan of the show. I've posted my reasons for leaving the section up in the article's talk page. Per that thread, I've e-mailed FCI with a request to review the article - something they have done for us in the past. Without the section on place, they won't be able to review these particular edits. If you wish to respond, please do so in the article's talk page so the thread is easier to track. I just wanted to let you know here that I've started one. Rklawton 00:04, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Of course they can review the section: It's in the history. --Chris Griswold () 00:31, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
The inclusion of this inauthentic information is inappropriate, and it can be re-added once a source is found. It is standard practice to remove uncited information when a serious question is raised about it. --Chris Griswold () 00:47, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Editing glitches

According to Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Major_edit_glitch there appear to have been numerous strange edits recorded. Thanks for the heads-up though. -choster 01:11, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

I don't know if it's that big a deal.
It's the next issue, and we already know from the previous one that Jericho and Miss Martian are the missing characters. --DrBat 00:00, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I suppose you're right. I actually thought that was Red Star when I looked at it before. --Chris Griswold () 02:32, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok

Thats fine I have to go back and reedit the lists again anyways, Ill remember that. This is going to be fun. Thefro552 23:55, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Ha. Thanks for working on these articles, though. Other than the listing thing, everything else has been great. I really appreciate it. Are you a member of the Comics WikiPRoject?--Chris Griswold () 23:57, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Oh: What are you editing the superheroboxes for now? There are some no-longer-used fields that in a lot of them, and if you could remove them while you're doing whatever it is you are doing now, it would be really great. --Chris Griswold () 00:17, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Winchester Thurston School

With all due respect, have you actually attended the Winchester Thurston School? I have. I can honestly tell you that a lot of those facts are completely exaggerated for promotional purposes. I'm just trying to present my alma mater in a light that is honest. If you think I am a vandal, then it will only perpetuate my belief that Wikiphiles are exclusive against those who want to simply edit every now and then. I mean no harm, I'm just trying to present the facts. If you know people from Pittsburgh well enough, then you should know that I'm trying to be as genial as I can given the circumstances, and whatever I said on the edit summary was facetious. But I guess there is no room for humor among Wikiphiles, so I apologize. 132.162.250.118 00:58, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Dude, I am the last person to complainto about a lack of humor among Wikipedians. Additionally, I live in Pittsburgh and even created a project on here for Pittsburgh articles. Let's talk specifically about what needs to be changed, and we'll fix it. I don't think you're a vandal; you appear genuinely to care about the article. So let's make it better. --Chris Griswold () 01:15, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Amador City, CA

Not sure why you took out the walking tour of Amador City, CA And once again, Chris comes to the rescue. Amador City, CA is on the list for California's to update. They needed help. Another thing I'd like to mention. I planned on putting Pictures of the historic buildings in Amador City. I've noticed that since you've become an administrator, you've been esp. hard on people. I'm wondering if your having issues with delegating Wiki work, and respecting others opinions. I'm not sure, but my Walking Tour page was ripped off, before you asked me or consulted with the other Wikipedians in California. The article had no spam in it. My article was derived out of a Geologic Guidebook, Along Highway 49 Sierran Gold Belt, The Mother lode Country (Centennial Edition) 1948 Divisions of Mines, Ferry Building, San Francisco, and had nothing to do with advertising any money making scam. The Walking Tour Map is located at the chamber of commerce in Jackson. You need to pick that up before you get to Amador City, CA. I don't know why it was deleted? You didn't give any idea's on how to fix it or what rule I violated. You are from another state for crying out loud. This is my first attempt at editing. I have experience with the Gold Belt, and I've been through Amador, several times. I have a claim outside of Amador City. The area is a Ghost town, very small. If you blink, you might miss it. The walking tour is for the old abandon buildings that are Historic and need to be preserved in Wikipedia. A work in progress doesnt get torn off, because of one person is being bias/ or an opinion that the page doesn't fit. I'm just trying to help the founders with Wikipedia. Also, you mentioned, another thing I don't understand; Please do not add your name or userboxes to articles. You could have explain that in greater detail, I'm still unsure where or how to sign an article. I though Wikipedia wanted us to put our names on the articles? How do I get ahold of a person where I can get a second opinion on the deletion? Or maybe just another administrator who can explain how to sign an article, and when to actually help out with a project page, another California/wikipedian has created. I'm concerned that left unchecked this could happen to other people you assist. Your young Chris and you swooped in and deleted an all day project for me. So, needless to say, I'm kinda at odds with "is this even worth it to me" I need guidance, yes, but half-statements, unfounded deletions, and short remarks, leave me still in the dark with Wiki-editing. I'm bringing this to the forefront, because I'm new and there are other new members who are learning how to help Wikipedia.org. Helpful suggestions work better than mass deletions of projects in the works. I found this on the Administrators pages, and I think you should read this. What Administration is not I will be looking forward to a deeper explanation and what exactly was wrong with the Walking Tour page. Ruby Rose65 02:55, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Ruby Rose65

First, I want to say that I do not appreciate your calling into question my abilities as an administrator. You have been editing for one day. When you get some more experience, fine, you can tell me that I am acting improperly, but I took more time with this situation than a lot of editors would because I saw you were new and I wanted to help you. I deleted the articles because they were poorly written promotional articles for obscure local places of interest. That's three strikes against them. But you know what? I inserted the information from those articles into the main article about the town so your work was not lost. As for the walking tour information, it was written too much like a brochure and I wasn't really able to re-insert it. Additionally, I explained these changes to you on your talk page, pointed you in the direction of information that would help you to edit the type of articles you are interested in, and offered help whenever you need it. For you to then accuse me of being mean after all that really just kind of saddens me.
To sign your posts, add ~~~~ after your comment or click the link below after "Sign your name." Only add your signature to talk page comments, not the article itself. Your name will be in the page's history.
The userbox I was talking about was the one that said you are from California. You added this to more than one article. Userboxes do not go anyplace but your user pages.
My offer to help stands; however, do not speak down to me again. I don't need to be from California to edit that article. I am a Wikipedia administrator: I can edit any article well. --Chris Griswold () 06:42, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Your 3RR violation of Dec 4/5

I suppose you know the drill already, being an admin and all, but it's reported at WP:AN/3RR. -- Lonewolf BC 23:38, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the notification. Just 155 cases before they get to us. Although it turns out 3RR warnings are no longer required for more experienced editors, it still would be polite practice to use them. Thanks again, Chris Griswold () 05:36, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

I just noticed this. Thank you, that's very kind. ~CS 07:41, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Taylor Allderdice High School

Hey there,

User:0-0-0-Destruct-0 has asked that I as an AMA, have a look at the Taylor Allderdice High School article and help him to explain some of the reasons why he feels that some of his points weren't entirely taken in by the others who help edit this article. I've updated it's talk page with some comments you may want to respond to, or may just find interesting. Thanks!

--•Elomis• 22:37, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

I have a question

the article fatfatism is sheer nonsense, and the user Moonsear has attend a number of nonsense over many (of the little) article he worked on, how can be warned? Abountu 06:42, 8 December 2006 (UTC) on top of the fatfatism article that was deleted several times by Administrators (on my and other ppl requests) he add more nonsense into another website, if you see his contribs : [[11:53, 7 December 2006 (hist) (diff) American University of Beirut (→Alumni), that was later removed by another wikipedian... with only one day registered, he created several times the same "fatfatism" article. IMO he should be warned... thx anyway Abountu 17:48, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

All I see is his work on fatfatism and its deletion discussion. He did bring the article back after the speedy deletion, but I think that just has to do with him not understanding how to object to a speedy deletion. The edit on the American University of Beirut has not been reverted by another editor, and I don't see how it is vandalism. --Chris Griswold () 18:22, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

My edit to 52 (comic book)

Sorry. I didn't notice the "Major edit in progess" message. DH85868993 22:58, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

no problem. I copy everything to my clipboard before I hit save on big edits like this. --Chris Griswold () 23:05, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
As a note about that article: I put a cleanup laundry tag on it. References to the number "52" and Rip Hunter's lab sections have long lists that should be cleaned somehow. RobJ1981 01:23, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

WP:ANI

You're most recent comment on the Administrator's Notice Board cracked me up so hard. I'm going to figure out how to save the section for my humor page.NinaEliza 00:48, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

WatchlistBot

I've used User:WatchlistBot to create /Articles pages for WP:CMC and WP:PGH. These lists contain all articles which already had the project tags on them. WatchlistBot can also be used interactively to tag categories, or tag all articles in tagged categories. Let me know if you'd like me to help you with that. Otherwise, the article lists will be updated periodically, on no set schedule. This will pick up article renames, deletions, or manual additions of the tag. Ingrid 21:44, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

False Vandalization Warning

Mr. ChrisGriswold; on my Talk Page, I have been accused of vandalizing a User Page/Talk Page by User: Switchfo0t813. I have not done any vandalizing, my contributions will show that. How do I deal with this User? We're already in an edit war (which I want to get out of), and now I'm being accused of vandalism. What do I do? Acalamari 23:51, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

I'll take a look. --Chris Griswold () 04:05, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for protecting both my Talk Page and the Aly & AJ page. I understand my block; I expected something like this to happen. I broke the 3-revert rule, and my punishment was fairly light. However, I'd don't know why the block wasn't mentioned in my block log. Thanks also for removing that false vandalism message on my Talk Page; and yes, I will join in the discussions about the situation on the Aly & AJ page. Acalamari 16:37, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Bart Allen

I happened to skim the history and noted you took out the following:

Bart is the son of Don Allen, one of the Tornado Twins, and Meloni Thawne, a descendant of Professor Zoom, the Reverse-Flash. Bart is also XS's cousin, the half-brother of Owen Mercer (the second Captain Boomerang) and the base for the clone Thaddeus Thawne (aka Inertia).

If that doesn't go in Character History, where does it go? My only thought is for a new section on 'Personal Life', but part of the reason Bart's able to do what he can with time is because he's screwed up with regards to what time line he's in, so it's somewhat important. As for Capt'n Boomerang, as bizarre as it looks, Owen's mother is Meloni Thwane, so yeah, they're half-brothers, both stuck out of time (which is a fan rational for how Owen has super speed, sometimes). -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 20:21, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Afterthought - Wanna get really grossed out? Meloni's father is Barry Allen's twin brother. Which makes her and Don first cousins. The speedsters are scraping the bottom of the genetic barrel, if they keep this up! -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 20:39, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
My concern is that that all needs citation. I have never read any of this about Owen Mercer, and I have been unable to find it. Where is this coming from? Also, I thought the Thawnes were descended from Barry Allen's twin brother Cobalt Blue --Chris Griswold () 22:55, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
I had to go re-read. Owen Mercer's history was touched on in Identity Crisis, however it's Flash #224-225 where you learn Capt'n Boomerang 1.0 was stuck in the 20th century for a while and hooked up with Meloni Thawne. And you're right about Cobalt Blue, but still, there's too much inbreeding there! -- Ipstenu (talk|contribs) 19:35, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism of PCA

Chris, could you take a look at JJsparxx (talk · contribs) and see if it appropriate to block him/her from editing Pittsburgh Classical Academy Middle School? The only editing JJsparxx has done is create a nonsense page for PCA and then vandalize it. As I'm still a relative newbie, I'm not yet sure when/how to block someone from editing a page. Thanx. – Paschmitts 03:52, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

OK, I educated myself and placed {{test3}} on his/her talk page (there was alread a {{test2article}} there). Could you keep an eye on this? – Paschmitts 04:12, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I can. Just place the next appropriate warning, and you can notify me if you really feel it's time to block. --Chris Griswold () 05:43, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Actually, I am going to block this user. Libel's not really something we should take lightly. ("child molester", "flamer") --Chris Griswold () 05:44, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Question

Hey there

Since it seems that your a comic book admin guru of sort I was wondering which is the preferred method of character articles. I've picked up that "Fictional character biography" is preferred to "History" or "Character biography" and have been making my way through the Marvel Characters editing it as well as adding the odd infobox when the need arises. However when a character article has it's intro bit which is the preferred comic project one. Most articles have Cyclops (Scott Summers) - codename with real name in brackets, however some have been reverted to Cyclops (real name: Scott Summers). Personally (and from what I've seen in most character articles) I like the former. Sorry to ramble on and on.

X-Men members

Basically I don't get why the template I made is deleted by you. It might be deleted before because I wasn't around at that time so I didnt have time to defend on keeping the template, also a lot of superhero members template came up which I only did one (I dont get why you need to delete all of them since all of them doesn't have the same use or purpose) and I remember they were some members who made the template big adding the other X-Teams (alpha flight, x-factor, etc.) and I was just keeping it to be small and just X-Men. Actually the template that I did was very useful, because users didn't have to go to the category since the category of X-Men included the villians and allies (not X-Men) and the template is just for X-Men members. Have you ever look at the artist's template, it have the singles and albums but they still have a category separated for that also. So I don't get why just because there is a category there's no need to make a template (which I think template is much easier since you don't have to go another page just to see a link from the article of Wolverine, Cyclops, etc). You can delete what ever team template you want but not X-Men - it's a popular superhero team and I just want to people browse easily including me --HW-Barnstar PLS 10:16, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

The reasons these were deleted are listed on the TFD that I directed you to. Also, you might be interested in List of X-Men characters and List of X-Men teams. --Chris Griswold () 11:29, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Regarding Aly & AJ/Prussian Blue (duo)

I wasn't sure where you wanted me to respond, so I'll do it here unless you say so. Anyway, I was actually wondering when someone was going to ask me that; I'm glad it was you, Mr. ChrisGriswold. Since I joined, I have done nearly 500 contributions (which, as you know, includes Talk Pages, User Page, Wikipedia Maintenance pages, etc). I've been checking my contributions and I have noticed that a lot of my edits have been to do with Aly & AJ or Prussian Blue (duo). I actually didn’t expect to do a lot of edits to either article; the Prussian Blue (duo) page I became involved with when I left a message (which was a hypocritical message, but I’ve learned more about Talk Pages since then), and added the page to my watchlist. With Aly & AJ, I added some information, and put the page in my watchlist. My Talk Page is full of things about Aly & AJ and Prussian Blue (duo) (which is why I was wondering when someone was going to ask what you asked). I’ll admit that I have done quite a bit of editing to those pages, but I hope you don’t think that that’s all I’ve done. I hope this has answered your question, if not, please tell if you there was anything I missed. If you want to see that I've edited other things, I encourage you to look at my contributions. My edits include contributions ranging from The Best Damn Thing to Sheryl Crow, and even StarEdit to Paris Hilton. I hope I haven't offended you or anything. Acalamari 00:21, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

No, I didn't assume that those were all you interested in. I just saw you on two articles whose subjects I considered very different, and so I tried to figure out what interested you in them. I make no judgment one way or the other, and I do see your contributions now. And no, you didn't offend me. Keep up the good work. --Chris Griswold () 01:08, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, Messy Page I've Been Trying To Edit

Mr. ChrisGriswold; I've been editing a page called Daniel Rodriguez (I have no idea who he is) due to some new Users editing it (it was a new User who linked me to the page). Most edits I've done to the page have been undone by one of these Users. I have tried to make the article more neutral, and I've attempted to clean the page. I've added citations, which were removed. The User doing these edits isn't a vandal at all(User Talk: Leah01); and I have tried to talk to this User. Would you mind taking a quick look at the Daniel Rodriguez page to see what you think of it, please? Acalamari 22:04, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank you; I tried to do many of the things you did, but my edits were just undone, including the citations. As I said, I only found about this Rodriguez person due to new Users. When I saw the page, I knew it needed a lot of work to clean it up. I'll try to do some more at some stage if I can. Acalamari 02:47, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Nova and Xavier

Wasn't the reason why Xavier killed her in the womb was because he realized she was evil? Adding that to his 'dark side' makes it looks like he was killing his innocent sister for no reason. From his spotlight at UncannyXmen.net: According to Shi’ar lore, every being has a Mummudrai - a spiritual opposite that is all the evil the person is not. In Charles’ case, for whatever reason, said Mummudrai took on a physical form as his twin sister in the womb. Sensing the creature’s evil, Charles instinctively fought it.--DrBat 15:05, 26 December 2006 (UTC) That is never specifically stated in the comics. The source you are quoting is just conjecture. He and his twin struggled, and he destroyed her body, but she survived. She may have become a mummudrai, but she is never said to have been in the beginning. --Chris Griswold () 02:32, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

History of Pittsburgh - request for collaboration

I've put a lot of additional work into this article, based on feedback from when it was a Featured Article Candidate. Also updated the maps to give them a more standard appearance. I'm going to submit the article for peer review and then FAC again. Before I do, though, I need some help from the WikiProject Pittsburgh. Please take some time and help with these tasks:

  1. improve the article with changes, additions and deletions
  2. some stern proof-reading, please
  3. give it a quality/importance rating at Talk:History of Pittsburgh
  4. leave feedback at Talk:History of Pittsburgh

Thanks. I'll be leaving this note at the talk pages of the project members who have been most active in Pittsburgh-related articles. Tomcool 14:41, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Change links from reference to direct

I've had a lot of feedback from visitors who do not like to be taken down the page to have to click once again to be taken to the articles that have been listed as verification of information. I would like to remove the "ref". Many say that they get lost and confused when they have to do this extra step.. I agree. I also check on a few other sites, such as Placido Domingo.. They do not use a seperate list for the references, but allow the visitors to view the article or other off site information directly when they click on the foot notes in the page. Please let me know if I will be violating any hard and fast rule by making this change on the Daniel Rodriguez page. I feel it is a necesssary one. thank you, Operadog 09:55, 27 Dec (UTC)

Is This IP An Administrator?

This one: 124.19.40.219 This User left a message on my Talk Page threatening to put a Three-Revert Block on me for an edit. However, I am suspicious because I have not removed a link more than three times (as this User is claiming), and this warning is by an anonymous IP and not an Administrator. I'd like to know if this IP belongs to an Administrator or not Acalamari 16:48, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

The user is bluffing because he doesn't agree with your edits. If he is actually an admin, he should sign in. Ignore these threats unless he does so. If anything changes, keep me updated. --Chris Griswold () 17:34, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Okay, thank you; I seriously doubt that this User is an Administrator due to several errors in the message. Administrators have good writing (they have to; it someone wishes to be an Administrator, they need to write properly), and this User certainly didn't use good writing. Also, Administrators wouldn't write message like that anyway. One more thing, my edit to the Michael Richards page was done on consensus; the link had been removed by other Users who said it was inappropriate. Acalamari 17:55, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

The word massacre has a number of meanings, but most commonly refers to individual events of deliberate and direct mass killing, especially of noncombatant civilians or other innocents without any reasonable means of defense, that would often qualify as war crimes or atrocities...Additionally, the word massacre is often used for political or propaganda purposes, and the choice of whether to label an event a massacre may become a sensitive one; see, for example, the Kent State massacre

A truly neutral(NPOV) title for this picture would be a string of numbers, whereas massacre is a bit of a weasel word. Can you suggest any reason not to change the file name?
--Knulclunk 08:06, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes: It is the most accurate term to describe the event. There's the Boston Massacre, the Columbine Massacre, and any number of other school shootings. A massacre is when an armed person or persons kill a number of civilians. That's it. You have no consensus for the move.--Chris Griswold () 08:10, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Disagree The term was intentionally chosen after the incident to force an agenda and to manipulate public opinion. I'm not even saying that Kent State wasn't a massacre. I'm saying that since the term is devisive, it shouldn't be used in the file name. We can all read the facts on the page and form our own opinions.
Please See:

Without using the word massacre, defend not changing the filename.

Chris,
Made a formal request on the Kent State image filename debate. Can I go ahead?

SM3 and AN/I

I did. it was on AN, AN/I and RfI. NO one helped, so I asked Durova to intervene, hence the semi-pro on the page now. my AN/I submission is in archive 164, untouched. ThuranX 14:33, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Asgardian again

Hi, Chris. Happy holidays. I want to thank you for supporting several editors' request to have User:Asgardian blocked for a time or even banned, and now -- infuriatingly -- he's gone back to his old ways despite his promise of not. As User:CovenantD and I believe others have reverted, Asgardian is again deleting "Publication history" at Awesome Android and seemingly just baiting other editors.

Wikipedia just seems like a joke to him. Despite all his promises to abide by policies and guidelines, he behaves for a few days, then goes right back to creating mischief. I have to ask you (and I'll ask Steve Block, too) to intervene. When is enough enough?

Thanks for any help. What a thing, huh? Happy New Year to ya, -- Tenebrae 15:21, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Daniel Rodriguez

Chris, I think we need a mediator. I am not being allowed by Mr. Darcy to put anything on this page about any of the special career events that took place in Washington. I rewrote a paragraph instead of using a list, for the 5 events I would lilke to include, but even that was immediately deleted as being PR.. it was not, and was simply adding more background information as I've been asked to do. Highlight of his career as these are important to include it seems and they were all precisely footnoted and labled for reference. I cannot understand why these particular highlights of his career are being censored. This is exactly what it appears. Can you help me re-write the paragraph so it will be not be deleted again? Thank youOperadog 00:12, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello again Chris, I have more to ask you. Being a newcomer on this site and not being a web designer or anything even close, I have trouble understanding the information on how to do things on this type of site, but I am determined to do the best I can to make a page to share with other about my subject. So I go to other contempories of his to see how their pages look. I would be so grateful if you would look at both Mario Frangoulis and Ronan Tynan. Ronan has a paragraph that lists his Presidental performances, that have not been deleted or challanged, while mine done exactly the same, have been removed twice. I also see on Frangoulis site that there is no verification for much of anything, and a lot of opinions. I have none of that on my page and yet I cannot get the relavent information about my subjects basic career and background to be accepted. I have removed all opinions and make it neutral. I am at a lost as to what is going on and why there is such different treatment of those who come to Wikpedia. One site you allow something and other, it is prohibited. It certainly appears that a personal attitude towards my subject is perhaps what is at the root of this discrimination. What is going on and why is it alllowed that Mr. Darcy can remove my informaton when he leaves the exact things, written the same way on another site. Is there something else I can do? Thank you. Please adviseOperadog 04:04, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello Chris, I am the original designer of the DR page/article and have just tonight edited the previous memorial day and other presidential information and placed back into this article in a less PR style. I hope this resolves the issue and we can continue to improve this page and add more backgroud information as was suggested, earier by one of the editors. I also ask that you keep your eyes on this situation please. Hopefuly there will be no more deletions of this valuable information on the subjects page Leah01 11:41, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

DC Who's Who images

I was following up something with CovenantD and he referred me over to you.

Earlier in the month he downed a DCWW derived image for Shazam and cited "fair use reasons." I was wondering what exactly they were?

The reason I ask is I've run across a few, both from the DCWW and from the later Secret Files. I had downed one on the Lords of Chaos and Order article, but it was put back up. I'd like to have a solid grounding on why there's a problem with these before I go and down it again. Also, is it just the DCWW specific images, or is it any image in that format, ie are the Secret Files ones good to use?

Thanks for listening... — J Greb 13:39, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Mediator Needed for Daniel Rodriguez Article

Chris, I accidentally forgot to sign the message I wrote Mr. Darcy below, instead of receiving a message easing me from my concern was got an unsigned/spa label with "nothing has been deleted" message and that was the whole response. Per this message I thing that a mediator is truly needed. Thanks Chris. Message read: I have been observing and I must say I completely agree with Greekvoice and Operadog on the fact that yes, an Irish Tenor's article can reflect his Presidential performances, yet the article of an equally well respected, Hispanic Tenor, who also has an illustrious background, cannot. I also follow and support Ronan Tynan and the other tenors as well. I am not a PR person and I do wonder (and I say this with all due respect), if this type of 'cleanup' might have something to do with some other reason (personal bias maybe) other than Wikipedia guidelines? This does not make sense at all and yes, absolutely, there needs to be clarification that makes complete and absolute sense as to why other articles can feature important performances and yet others as is evident from this discussion clearly cannot. I also agree that a mediator who possesses an excellent track record for objectivity (and an equally verifiable record) as a Wikipedia editor is necessary. Additionally, I agree, why is someone so cleverly deleting the posts of "newbie" editors of this page. That IS vandalism at its finest, not to mention 'sneakiest' form. Another all important questions is, with the editors/administrators who are cleaning up this site being "sharp" in their command of editing style and the English language and enforcing useage of the Wikipedia "guidelines" upon new editors of this article, why then, have they not been "sharp" enough or enforced guidelines also in place, by making an effort at getting down to the bottom of who IS deleting posts to talk/discussions of this article or finding out why the posts are being deleted in the first place. It is unfair, disrespectful, appears to be done out of discrimination and IS a form of vandalism. I apologize if this comes across as rather strong, but I couldn't sit by in silence and watch any longer. I agree that mediation is absolutely necessary, please and thank you. Chris, this was directed at our discussions with Mr. Darcy and we wanted to post you. My work here is done. I'm no longer editing this article. JournalSquareNYC 21:58, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Asking for help

I'm back here "in concert" with a group of us who have been working to assemble information and to create several new pages on Wikepedia. We have been met with beligerance, rudeness and comments that indicate that our "team work" to get the Very best end product for our subjects, is some kind of conspiracy. I've never encountered this kind of attitude that instead of being a Welcoming and helpful assistance from one of the editors, here has reached the point where some in our superior team, are now fearfull of making any more additions, or edits to our pages. I find this unacceptable and am asking where I can go to have this formal complaint heard. I have looked through the pages, and being a newby, perhaps just don't see it. But any help you can give me, would be most gratefully accpeted. The editor, Mr. Darcy has been chasing away new contributors to your great site and I think he needs to have this addressed. Thank you and I hope to see some steps for us to take. 1 January 2007 (UTC) Sorry, forgot to log in and signOperadog 21:09, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
