Information icon Hello, I'm 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 18:08, 23 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I noticed your question at NeilN's page but that administrator is away since 2018 and unlikely to answer. The WP:BLP and WP:BLPRS policies prevail over personal knowledge on Wikipedia, so the birthdate needs to be supported by a good mainstream source. I hope this helps, —PaleoNeonate – 02:33, 9 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

John Mooney age updates

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at John Mooney, you may be blocked from editing. DylanI00 (talk) 09:35, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, please read WP:NOR, which requires reliable, published sources are used on Wikipedia. In instances in the past Wikipedia has stuck with the other sources available (such as a person's player profile) over birth certificates given that those certificates can't be verified (see Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/2015 January 14). This verifibility issue also includes your claims around being Mooney's lawyer and being requested to change the article by his family; anyone can make these claims and they can't be verified. Unless you have published sources supporting your DOB change, please stop attempting to change the article. If you don't have any published sources, your best course of action would be to work with the various websites with profiles of Mooney across the internet and get them to change their profiles before attempting to change this article. However, given that his official NBL profile uses 1997, and they would have access to his application, 1997 would likely remain in the article with a note stating it was disputed, similarly to John Dall.
As stated in the edit summary on Mooney's article, please keep all further disputes of this matter to either this talk page or Talk:John Mooney; any further changes to the main page will potentially result in a temporary block from editting. DylanI00 (talk) 06:06, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

It appears accurate when viewed in australia as March 20, 1998. It is inaccurate when viewed in the US as March 19,1998. His birthdate is March 20, 1998 so the NBL updated their link after reviewing his passport.
