Geographic influences on Middle-earth map correction edit

Hey, would you mind either updating the Geographic influences on Middle-earth map, or making a variant, in which the underlying political map is one from before the end of the First World War -- as that's the map Tolkien grew up with and the one stable since the wave of 19th century revolutions --? There is an added risk of unwillingly spreading false claims if somebody relies on your map of Geographic influences on Middle-earth, otherwise a fantastic contribution, to write an essay or schoolwork. Thank you and I wish you my best. Rohankid (talk) 11:05, 2 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Quite the request for your very first edit. I think the concerns baseless, but since you've argued the point, and it's very unlikely there's a free SVG of pre-1914 Europe, and if I did use that everyone else would be astonished, &c &c &c, I've just removed all the political boundaries from File:Middle-earth's Geographic Influences.svg, so it's plain Europe. Will look plausible until the coming sea-level rise changes the coastlines for ever. I think the change a terrible pity, it makes the map a deal less readable, but there it is.
