Advice and warnings
editWelcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Parker College of Chiropractic. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Parker College of Chiropractic. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. WuhWuzDat 17:37, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Parker College of Chiropractic appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this important core policy. Thank you. WuhWuzDat 17:37, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

Edit warring
editYour content has been removed several times now and you have restored it without any discussion. That's edit warring, which is a blockable offense. Your actions are also bringing disrepute on Parker, which isn't very fair. Please stop. Please read the links in the welcome above. You don't understand the rules for editing here, or the rules for acceptable content. You are also in danger of violating our three-revert rule. You have now been warned and further disruption can result in a block. -- Brangifer (talk) 01:31, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Help request
edit(moved to the end; please add new things at the end of talk pages Chzz ► 16:15, 1 April 2010 (UTC))
{{helpme}}I have been trying to add content to Parker College of Chiropractic. I noticed the content was taken down again and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Your last note stated there were no sources cited so I will try adding content again with cited sources. Please let me know if I do not do this correctly or if I make a violation as I am not understanding all of the wikipedia rules and regulations. Thank you. {{helpme}}
- When you leave messages, please remember to "sign" your name, by putting ~~~~ (four tilde signs) at the end. This will add your name, and the date and time. You can also do this by clicking the 'sign' button, pictured here.
- Reviewing the page history helps; it shows that your additions were reverted as possibly WP:SOAPBOX. Please bear with me here - whether you agree or disagree with that opinion, the applicable policy is, Bold, revert, discuss.
- What that means is - If you want to edit a page, go ahead (as you did). If someone else objects, theymay undo the change. At that point, you should discuss it with them.
- To do so, please start a section on Talk:Parker College of Chiropractic, and say what you think should change. Then, post a short message on the userpage of the person who undid your changes - that is, User talk:BullRangifer, asking them to 'please see the discussion on [[Talk:Parker College of Chiropractic]] - give the some time to respond, and take it from there. It's all about consensus.
- For more help, you can either;
- Leave a message on my own talk page;
OR
- Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end;
OR
- Talk to us live, with this or this.
- The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello. Chzz ► 16:20, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
{{Helpme}} I saw the messages listed above the Parker College of Chiropractic article and am trying to help resolve the first two bullets, which are: • Its neutrality is disputed. Tagged since April 2010. • It is written like an advertisement and needs to be rewritten from a neutral point of view. Tagged since April 2010.
Do you have any recommendations of how this should be changed or what should be taken out for the article to become neutral as I have read it many times and feel it is very neutral so am not sure what changes need to be made. Also, is there any way the content that is written like an advertisment can be pin pointed or shared with me because I am having a hard time finding what is classified as written like an advertisment. I feel the article is neutral and is written in a journalistic style - telling the facts, but I would like to take the proper actions in order to make the changes needed for it to be more neutral as the bullets are requesting. I am just unsure of what exact phrases, paragraphs or words are raising this flag so that I will know what changes to make. Can you please help me with this?

- ". Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA, 30033-4097 or call 404.679.4500 for questions about the accreditation of Parker College of Chiropractic. The doctor of chiropractic degree program of Parker College of Chiropractic is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education, 8049 North 85th Way, Scottsdale, AZ, 85258-4321. Tel: 480.443.8877." Certainly should not be there."Parker Chiropractic Wellness Clinics incorporate health and wellness care into each visit. The clinics offer services for patients who have experienced auto accidents, sport injuries, home and work related injuries, or just the everyday wear and tear on the body. Numerous patients receive additional benefits under chiropractic care including more energy, an immunity boost, better sleep, posture improvement, and relief in headaches, back and neck pain, ear infections, allergies, asthma, stress, and much more." sounds promotional. "The Parker College Animal Clinic located on its campus provides another opportunity for student learning. This training can broaden students chiropractic care knowledge as animal chiropractic becomes more widespread for the care of pets and sport performing animals such as race horses." could be reworded removing the "provide opportunity" and "broaden students" part. "For years Parker Seminars has been a place where health care professionals gather to learn, network, celebrate the professions, and share success tips" is not neutral in tone. fetchcomms☛ 22:16, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
- Also: "With more than 5,000 alumni that practice in all 50 states and 29 countries around the world. Parker provides an environment for alumni to stay in touch with others from Parker." not neutral, remove the last bit. "Parker SHARE is committed to making an unmatched contribution to the chiropractic profession by investing one-hundred percent of proceeds to chiropractic education, wellness, and public relations." not neutral, reword to list facts only--just what they do. "The Standard Process Student Activity Center includes a weight room, cardio center, full gymnasium, study lounges, computers, and a game room with table tennis, billiards, foosball, and various video games. Thank you for your help and time. It was very useful. I made the recommended changes. Once again, I appreciate it. --Chiropractic Wellness (talk) 15:31, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
{{helpme}} I have made numerous changes to this article in order for it to be completely neutral, however I noticed it still has the bullets at the top of the article saying:
Its neutrality is disputed. Tagged since April 2010. It is written like an advertisement and needs to be rewritten from a neutral point of view. Tagged since April 2010.
Can you please help me with getting this taken off of the article as I feel it is very neutral and the tags should be deleted. --Chiropractic Wellness (talk) 15:37, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
- You could remove the templates yourself, if you had resolved the issues - they are the part right at the top of the article;
{{Article issues|orphan =October 2009|advert =April 2010|POV =April 2010|cleanup =April 2010}}
- However, others (including myself) may disagree; I still think it has 'advertisement' problems, and neutrality issues. For example;
- Numerous services are covered by health insurance policies and are frequently less than the insurance co-payments. - 'numerous' and 'frequently less' are a weasel words, it is inprecise, and as unreferenced it seems promotional
- The school offers discounted massage therapy services to the public. In addition, relaxation and advanced therapeutic massages are available. - this is pure advert; no reliable source.
- The whole "Alumni" section is unsourced, and advert-like
- Same for "Parker SHARE Products"
- The program prepares the student to contribute to the health and wellness of any client through direct intervention, knowledgeable referral, or wellness advocacy. Parker School of Massage Therapy also offers a medical massage advanced training program that was created to meet the demands of the growing massage and health care industries. The 300 hour advanced training course is a program available to licensed massage therapists only. The program prepares the student for specialized work in a health care facility. - again, very promotional, and only referenced to a directory entry which looks like a primary source - primary sources should only be used for very specific, neutral factual information.
The article should rely on neutral, hard facts - supported by truly independent reliable sources which have a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
- What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
below this message box. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
