The RfA is advertised via WP:CENT to every editor's watchlist, so does not require your selective talk page messages, cheers. How do you know the editors for whom you have left these messages? SN54129 20:52, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Acroterion,

I’m afraid I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong? Chinicker (talk) 01:55, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Again, don't canvass RfAs. Why are you doing that? Acroterion (talk) 01:56, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

What is canvassing? I just thought those editors might like the opportunity to be supportive at a successful RfA. Chinicker (talk) 01:59, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

What you're doing. You've been asked not to do that three times. On what basis are you contacting editors? Acroterion (talk) 02:01, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I don’t understand, as I’ve answered your question: I thought those editors might like the opportunity to be supportive at a successful RfA, so I was simply making sure they were aware that someone else was going to be promoted to admin. Chinicker (talk) 02:05, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

And that's something that's discouraged. Don't do it. Why are you contacting those specific editors, and how do you know about RfAs? Acroterion (talk) 02:05, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

No specific reason. Is there something wrong with contacting those specific editors? I know about RfAs because that is how people are promoted to admins here. It is discussed on other websites and occasionally in the news, and Wikipedia is pretty easy to navigate. Is there something wrong with this? Chinicker (talk) 02:10, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Selectively contacting other editors to influence an RfA (or anything else) is strongly discouraged. See WP:CANVASS. Acroterion (talk) 02:13, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I had intended to contact Vami IV and encourage his participation, but he already has. Chinicker (talk) 02:17, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

And how, among all Wikipedians, are you familiar with Vami IV and the others? Acroterion (talk) 02:20, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Acroterion and Serial Number 51429: check out their contributions—same message to myself, Ceradon, Vami IV, and 力. All four of us have failed RfAs—Vami IV's and mine high profile, Ceradon's and 力's recently. This is an LTA account, I've been getting spam on my talk account where they add the {{not admin topicon}} template and sometimes a heartwarming message to my user and talk page (usually, for these other editors too). theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/they) 02:30, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

What is an LTA? Chinicker (talk) 02:31, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

We're done, you've wasted enough editors' time. @Theleekycauldron, that's as I thought. Acroterion (talk) 02:34, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
