AfD nomination of List of Deaths in Halloween

edit

An editor has nominated List of Deaths in Halloween, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Deaths in Halloween and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:EricMareaJakkie.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. BigDT 12:30, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

You seem to have uploaded some image files that are pictures of television shows. The copyright to those images is retained by the owner of the copyright of the show. They should be licensed with {{tv-screenshot}}, not {{PD-self}} or equivalents. ~ BigrTex 18:23, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chikinpotato11

edit

A tag has been placed on Chikinpotato11, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

You may describe yourself on your User page. Articles are only for Notable People and you are not one. Fan-1967 20:31, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

You know i deserve to be mad. And why are you treating me like a new wikipedian with your "welcome to wikipedia" crap. I've been a user for freaking 8 months! get real--Chikinpotato11 21:03, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to quote from the article on public domain: A creative work is said to be in the public domain if there are no laws which restrict its use by the public at large. According to Wikipedia:Public domain, something has to be public domain if it is not copyrighted (i.e. the work is not eligible for copyright or the copyright has expired). In the United States, anything published before 1923 is public domain. SpongeBob is not public domain at all. It has its own copyright (Stephen Hillenburg created the show and Nickelodeon owns the rights to it). If you readd that {{Pd-self}} tag back on the image, you would be plagiarising SpongeBob because you did not originally create the title card or the show (It makes no sense to use a fair use tag and a public domain tag if the image is fair use. Here's why. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. That is what the fair use tag says. Here is what the Pd-self tag tells: I grant any entity the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law.), though you were the one who took the image. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Wikictures 009.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Wikictures 009.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aksibot 16:37, 26 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Apparently, it was deleted on 18 April 2007 by Nv8200p with reason "Remove image with no copyright tag". I would suggest that you contact Nv8200p - provide him with a link to the image page, let him know which license tag should be on the image, and ask him to undelete it for you. ~ BigrTex 19:55, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed rationale for Image:Pendragon-Veego01.JPG

edit

I noticed that you uploaded File:Pendragon-Veego01.JPG, with the {{publicdomain}} template. Taking credit for Victor Lee's work violate's copyright law and is illegal. Unless you can prove to me that you are Victor Lee (or replace the image with correct rationale), I will be forced to list that image for deletion. Teh Rote (talk) 00:56, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
