A more person-to-person welcome! edit

Hi Chicoreus, Hi, I hope you don't mind if I offer a very special Wikipedia welcome from me to you, because you appear to be someone who may be interested in some of the same things that I am. As you will see from my user page here [1] and my talk page here [2], I am very interested in mollusks, and especially in gastropods. Over at WikiProject Gastropods we were thrilled to see there is a new editor on Wikipedia who has chosen a gastropod genus name as their Wikipedia user name. And let me say it's a particularly beautiful genus of muricids too. And this new editor seems to be a scientist who has already made some helpful gastropod edits. I don't know if you are indeed a malacologist, but we could really use having another malacologist around. If you have any questions at all or anything I can help you with about Wikipedia, please do drop me a line on my talk page. All good wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 21:36, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Deroceras images edit

Quoted from JoJam's talk page: "I'm leaving them tagged as Deroceras sp. on Flickr for now, with notes that they might be D. panormitanum. Will try to collect some specimens to get some definitive identifications. Chicoreus (talk) 17:28, 27 November 2009 (UTC)"

That would be great Chicoreus, thank you so much. Apparently it is hard to tell D. panormitanum and D. laeve apart, and to do it from photos only is even harder. Aydin passed the question over to Megan, and I did not get a definite ID from Megan, it was a suggestion, and I thought it was a good one from my limited understanding of the two species. I was familiar with D. laeve from Britain in the 1960s and 1970s, and the images did not look like the D. laeve I used to see there, but of course there are different forms. Thanks again, Invertzoo (talk) 16:17, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
