Hi, and welcome! Sorry about that, the only reason I reverted it was because it was starting to look a bit more of an advertisement, however, it has some good content in there, so keep it up! Scott DeGraff edit

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Scott DeGraff, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Scott DeGraff. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fram 16:08, 9 November 2006 (UTC) Maybe I will just merge this article with the article N9NE Group no? - please advice! Thanks. Chickville 17:04, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think that's a good idea. I have not checked if the N9NE group is notable enough (so maybe that will get deleted in due course as well), but I think it is best in most cases to merge CEO's with their company (exceptions like Bill Gates exist of course). If you haven't done yet, please check WP:BIO and WP:CORP for some indications on what we are looking for in articles about people and companies, and which ones are usually considered not notable enough for inclusion. It can be very hard if something you have put a lot of effort in and have seriously tried to be as objective and correct as possible, is nominated for deletion: this is not intended to discourage or criticize you, it is more of a mindless but necessary process to keep this encyclopedia more or less focused and to draw a line somewhere. If your article falls just below that line, that is frustrating of course... Fram 20:16, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

N9NE Group Feedback edit

Is it possible for you to give me feedback on this? Thanks. - Chickville 05:11, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Definitely! You seem to be doing very well on this article, but there's a few things to work on-
  • Firstly, you need to reword some things to make it sound like less of an advertisement- for example, the Ghostbar section at the moment reads: Ghostbar - With the futuristic venue atop the new W Dallas Victory Hotel and Residences Tower in downtown Dallas, the bar has a unique "ghostdeck," a 100-square-foot deck built entirely of glass with a see-through floor. You could change it to say 'the Ghostbar, situated on top of the W Dallas Victory Hotel is a unique, 100 foot square deck built entirely of glass'. Also, you can add a few sections about the history of the company, and maybe some large events that may have happened in the past.
  • Also try to remove/rephrase statements like this: ' Founded in 1999, the company own and operate contemporary American steakhouses and innovator of hip and sexy nightlife venues in these cities.' For this one, you can rephrase it to say something more like: 'Founded in 1999, the company own and operate contemporary American steakhouses, and are one of the first venues of this kind in these cities'
Just rephrase things like that, and there's some links in the templates at the top of the page that can help you as well. Other than that, it's a good article with a lot of potential- keep it up! Happy to help- CattleGirl talk | e@ | review me! 07:04, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Smile edit

Re: Smile edit

Question: If I take a picture of, say Lindsay Lohan, from the computer screen, or TV screen, will that still be copyvio? Just checking.

Answer: yes.
Thanks for the smile, though :) RadioKirk (u|t|c) 03:15, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
A. okey. Thanks for the enlightenment...Ooopppsss...More question: what about taking a picture of a yearbook, website or magazine? (Sorry, just need to be sure!) --Chickville|talk|c 03:47, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Same thing—if someone or some entity owns copyrights to its material, any copy made in any way is still a representation of the original, copyrighted material. In some cases, fair use can be claimed; the policy for Wikipedia is here. RadioKirk (u|t|c) 04:03, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Michael Morton edit

Message to User talk:Dstanfor: Thanks for your contribution to Michael Morton. I haven't made much progress on the article. I really appreciate it. Best regards. --Chickville|talk|c 23:41, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

BTW, do you think it is best to leave the article Michael Morton as it is now and just expand, or merge it with N9NE Group. Will that probably make it more encyclopedic? I will appreciate another insight into this. Thanks. --Chickville|talk|c 20:53, 16 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Chickville!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
