FYI, another user deleted the article from your user space because of the plagiarism, but I have a copy of your original text and we need to discuss plagiarism and encyclopedic tone. -Reagle (talk) 21:20, 13 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi, I wanted to give you some feedback on the draft. The first thing I noted was that a good chunk of the content read a bit like a personal interpretation of the athlete Luther Maddy. For example, most articles don't have sections that go over an athlete's strengths and weaknesses because those tend to be a bit subjective to the person making the judgement and as such, can run the risk of not being encyclopedic enough for an article. In place of that articles about athletes tends to just give stat overviews. You also have to be very careful to avoid writing in a casual or sports announcer fashion - there's nothing wrong with these styles, it's just that Wikipedia uses a more formal writing format.
Now the most important thing here is that this content was taken directly from the sourcing you used in the article. This is seen as plagiarism and a copyright violation even if you use the sources themselves as a citation. I do, unfortunately, have to let your professor Reagle know about this - however I will say that I do think that this was not done intentionally (ie, you set out to plagiarize). Please be careful about this in the future, as Wikipedia is fairly strict about taking content from other places and content that contains plagiarism or copyright violations are normally deleted. I'm going to delete this with my main account, however I will email your professor a copy of the content so that he can see your work. I would like you to go over the plagiarism module so you can get a good idea of Wikipedia's guidelines on plagiarism and copyright, thanks. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:28, 13 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
