September 2021 edit

User:Pvmoutside, I don't know what to make of this editor's moving around and renaming and redirecting in those Kingfisher articles. Drmies (talk) 14:49, 9 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

yes, the editor's edits need to be watched. They make some pretty strong inaccurate statements, so I've been correcting where need be. They also make statements that are uncited.....Pvmoutside (talk) 15:41, 9 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Chetatata (talk)my bad i made the mistake of basing it on the Birds of the Philippines book which I mistook as using IOC. added all the sources too.

Issue with copyright violations edit

Please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Birds#User:Chetatata_and_copyvios. This is a major problem and needs to be remedied. Please stop adding material while this is being sorted out. Cheers --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 15:18, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Could I just remove the parts with the IUCN edits instead? It's usually just the last paragraph on those?

I fear that won't do it - copyright violations normally need to be removed from the article history itself, which means that all revisions that contain the material are excised entirely. Waiting on what Diannaa says, she has been doing this for a long time. --Elmidae (talk ·

Darn ill try to save as much as I can before it gets removed but the ebird quotes should be fine or does that need to get removed too? I backed them all 110 of them up. My sincere apologies for giving you guys a headache I'm totally new to this thing. When it gets all deleted I'll just paste the previous ones minus the stuff from IUCN. Ill try to slowly edit the ebird stuff up but could i put it there for now? contribs) 16:47, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

My advice would be not to put stuff back in until as is, or it would risk being removed and having to replace it again. Please see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing#How to write acceptable content. You shouldn't be pasting anything, IUCN or not. However, if you do save it, you can rewrite it and reinclude it. CMD (talk) 06:07, 18 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
