Deleted content not lost edit

In any article, View history, then clicking on prev will show what has been deleted or added by that edit. I recommend not trying to restore the magazine articles. Wikipedia articles are about people, but are not intended to be places for listing all of their publications. David notMD (talk) 11:37, 7 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

The COI edit

I activated to COI template on your User page, and set it to link to the draft. I also removed the nowiki from your intent to submit the article, so it now has the submit banner at the top. Review may take up to two months, but can be much shorter, as reviewers pick what they want to review rather than in order submitted. If declined, the reviewer will provide rationale for that decision. David notMD (talk) 15:17, 7 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Draft rejected edit

The draft was declined at AfC. The editor erred in posting the notice on my talk, but should be adding it here, soon. Reason given: "This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject." This is one of the standard-worded replies (and one that is not uncommon when the person who created the article has/had a personal relationship with the subject). Take it as guidance to revising the draft, especially the Coursing section. I revised some of the book section - references not needed, just publisher and ISBN. Good luck. David notMD (talk) 09:43, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I recommend removing the listing of the three fiction books. His fiction writing, while about land use and abuse in the southwest, does not rightly fit with the rest of his information on outdoors preservation. And as books were self-published, only a weak addition to notability in general. David notMD (talk) 13:48, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Do you think I should remove the Coursing section too? I didn't know him till well after that period of his life and I had an old friend of his write that portion...I can see now that she was way too 'peacocky'... CherieSalmon (talk) 14:03, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

I know the draft is less than half the length of what you had started with, but all of my edits have been with intention of improving odds of draft being accepted. In current state, the Coursing section is the weakest part, and could result in another decline. A bit more shortening by you could help. My suggest is submit with, and if the next reviewer declines, see that person's reasons. David notMD (talk) 18:19, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
That makes great sense! And THANK YOU very much for all of your help! CherieSalmon (talk) 18:36, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
