Your edits to a.o. Acetonitrile edit

Hi. Welcome to wikipedia. I saw you added some links to external links sections. As your username suggest you are involved in the website you are linking to, I want to give you two (good faith) warnings:

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article acetonitrile, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added to the page acetonitrile do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

I understand that your website gives a lot of information which can enhance the wikipedia, but as we are writing an encyclopedia here, and not a linkfarm, it would be nice if you could provide (unique) information about the chemicals, and add that content to the articles. Where appropriate, this should of course be referenced (see WP:CITE and WP:FOOT). But in all cases, please observe our Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines\policies and guidelines, especially our neutral point of view policy and our what wikipedia is not policy (but also the other ones linked in the welcome message above).

I hope we can welcome you as a new editor, may I invite you to join the Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemistry and Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemicals? Thanks, and hope to see you around! --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:27, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Chemportal edit

A tag has been placed on Chemportal, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD G11.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Shawnpoo 17:18, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merci. -- Merope 17:33, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Work that you submit to Wikipedia is released under the GFDL. (The article about in French is here.) People are free to copy the material on Wikipedia for other purposes. If you have specific questions, you can put {{helpme}} on your talk page (here) and someone will help answer your questions. -- Merope 17:45, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks a lot Merope,
you know as a scientist and French (and old), it's really difficult for me to understand the wiki world.
I wanted to contribute about the work my team is doing on chemicals.
But I think I have to find another media.
Best Regards,
Henri.
And sorry again for the disturb.

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! - CobaltBlueTony 18:41, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
