Oligonucleotide Synthesis Review edit

Hi there! I really don't have that much experience with article assessment, but reading the article, I think it could reach B class easily. I'd recommend that an "applications" section be added to provide more information. The red links should also be removed or articles created. This is optional, but a "see also" section should also be created. The "Synthesis of Oligonucleotide Microarrays" section should also have some content in it, rather than just a link to the main article. Hope that helps! -download | sign! 00:16, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Would you like me to do a good article review for this article? I believe it does qualify, but if so I'll take a better look. -download | sign! 19:08, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
...and I have now passed it as a good article. Congrats! See the talk page for more information, if you want. Happy editing! -download | sign! 04:55, 26 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oligonucleotide Synthesis edit

Hello Chemist234, just read the oligonucleotide synthesis article. Nice work. I would like to ask you a question: After a (e.g.) 20mer oligonucleotide has been synthesized with a coupling yield of 98%, can the oligo be cleaved from the cpg support quantitatively? I read paper where the conversions are good (95%) but the overall yield after deprotection and cleavage is about 50-80%. Do you have experience with this loss of oligo? Another question: Do you know why cpg and polystyrene supports for oligonucleotide synthesis are so expensive? There are cheap 1mmol/g polystyrene supports available but they are not suitable for oligonucleotide synthesis. --Oligoligo (talk) 21:12, 10 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for answering my question. You wrote "MPPS suitable for oligonucleotide synthesis is a low-swellable, highly cross-linked polystyrene obtained by polymerization of divinylbenzene (min 60%)[...]". From which paper do you have this information? I read that 20% divinylbenzene is enough but it was an old paper. --Oligoligo (talk) 19:33, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I think we could add different cleavage conditions in Oligonucleotide_synthesis. Did you know there is a EDA method? Recently I tried it and it's working. Tt should be as good as NH4OH, however my yield was only ~25% for a small oligo. --Oligoligo (talk) 21:48, 14 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Mauna Loa edit

Hey, it's still a work in progress but the Geology section is just about done; take a look? ResMar 04:25, 16 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Fluorides edit

Can you please help me? I don't know how's in English the chemical compound U4F18. Could you tell me? Στέλιος Τ. (talk) 15:33, 17 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • A compound of molecular formula U4F18 is not present in CAS database. Sorry, Chemist234 (talk) 01:59, 24 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
