July 2013 edit

Hello, I'm Srich32977. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Adam Kokesh, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Cheesehead, you may not know what Kokesh's employment/occupation is, but that does not mean nobody knows. In other words, we need WP:RS that says "nobody knows what Kokesh's occupation is." Since we do not have such info, it is improper to put your statement/opinion in the article. Thanks.S. Rich (talk) 17:27, 10 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay, but please understand I was the one trying to correct the original version of this a.m., which was WILDLY inaccurate, identifying him as a talk-show host even though he'd stated in 2011 he'd been fired from all his TV & radio gigs. I'm fine with deleting the category, though if I find a source about his occupation being unknown, I might update it later. Thanks for the clarification.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Cheesehead2013 (talkcontribs)

Thanks. Please note that IP editor User:70.192.16.243 made a similar change to the article. I posted a message on 70.192.16.243's talk page about the edit. And I left a note about WP:SOCKPUPPET editing. (I was wondering if you were using the IP address to make the changes.) Because you've given me a positive response about the need for RS, I don't think you are sockpuppeting. As for Kokesh's occupation, we might say "former talk show host". That would be verifiable, accurate, and WP:NPOV. I shall "watch" this talk page for a while. Feel free to make comments or ask questions here. Happy editing. – S.
