Re: New editor

Great. Thanks for showing him the ropes. 'Twas a pleasure to meet you. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 21:18, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

I noticed a problem on your talkpage: not enough kittens!

Greetings and re-greetings

Hi. Sorry we weren't able to chat more while you were in town. I'm very glad we were able to meet up in-person finally. And I'm very glad to see that you're back on Wikipedia (or perhaps "back," time will tell).

There's a whole lot of U.S. Supreme Court-related work to be done and I hope you'll stick around to help out. :-) I redesigned WP:SCOTUS a few months ago and I have notes in all sorts of places detailing where I'd like to see the project go next, but who knows if I'll ever get the notes posted, much less implemented. So much to do and so little time! --MZMcBride (talk) 20:43, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

Maybe. No promises.--Chaser (talk) 01:01, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Streltsov and Olympic Gold

Firstly, thank you for having the decency to at least respond at WP:ERRORS, a page where the lack of responsiveness so often totally defeats the purpose of its existence. I can't accept, however, that someone who didn't play in the final had an important role in the team winning that final. Yes, an important role in them getting a medal, or in reaching the final, but in winning it? How? A particularly inspirational pat on the back of a teammate as he ran onto the pitch? Such a suggestion cannot possible be proven, so it should not be posted on the front page of an encyclopaedia that claims to be NPOV. Kevin McE (talk) 08:47, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

The summary says "gold", not the final. In any event, it is now off the main page.--Chaser (talk) 18:22, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
And how are they going to get gold, save for winning the final? Kevin McE (talk) 19:52, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
You have to win the prior games in single-eliminaton rounds to even compete in the final.--Chaser (talk) 03:12, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

ITN 23 July 2012 Iraq Bombings

Hi, the death toll in the attack is given as 107, but it has become 116. Since you posted it, I would like to ask whether or not it should be updated. Thanks,Egeymi (talk) 09:25, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Yes, and I've done it. For future reference, you can post update requests to WP:ERRORS, where you'll likely get a quicker response. Thanks.--Chaser (talk) 23:17, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks for updating,Egeymi (talk) 15:09, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for the help.--Santos30 (talk) 03:00, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Maeve Binchy

Thank you. Martinevans123 (talk) 10:38, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Regarding your excellent decision to move the Sikh temple shooting page to a new article whose title is clearer and easier to find.

Spanish empire

Hi maybe we have a consensus in Spanish empire. Can you unprotected?. Talk:Spanish_Empire#Protected_again. Thank you very much.--Santos30 (talk) 17:24, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Maybe no. Sorry.--Santos30 (talk) 18:38, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia Takes St. Louis

I'm drafting Wikipedia:Wikipedia Takes St. Louis. Tell me what you think. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 10:13, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Kudos for posting Women's Relay on ITN

Kudos for posting the women's 4x100 WR to ITN. Despite the number of silly "omg more Olympics" opposes, I doubt most other admins would've taken that step to post it, so hats off. —Strange Passerby (t × c) 11:53, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

I didn't do it for kudos, but thanks. I just posted a long comment about how I assessed the discussion. In retrospect, I probably should have posted that when I posted the story to ITN, but live and learn. Someone started a discussion about removing world records from ITNR, which is healthy. I'll follow whatever the guideline says (or clear consensus to make an exception to the guideline).--Chaser (talk) 16:21, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
You should probably have posted the result that has been hailed as the best performance of the games, rather than the one that met some guideline that apparently no-one supports anyway, and which quite obviously is meaningless without a further case by case examination (which in this case clearly falls short compared to both Bolt's acheivements and Rudisha's, and even arguably Mo Farah's, although it's understandable by now why no-one even bothers to suggest that notable double). HeCameFromTheShadows (talk) 17:22, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

Is it still necessary? If not, can you take it down? Bzweebl (talkcontribs) 19:21, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

I assume you meant this. Requests like this are better placed at WP:ERRORS than an individual administrator's talk page. Thanks.--Chaser (talk) 22:53, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Thank You...

...for fixing the title about Yassir Arafat on ITN. It was indeed tasteless, and reflected poorly on ITN. Jusdafax 01:12, 30 August 2012 (UTC)
