AfD nomination of Chase Evans edit

Chase Evans, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Chase Evans satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chase Evans and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Chase Evans during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. iridescent (talk to me!) 20:11, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can you put this into laymen terms for me please--Chaseevans 22:07, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The reason somebody nominated the article Chase Evans for deletion, is because they believe the subject (apparently you) fails to meet the notability guidelines for inclusion of biographies on pornographic actors. The requirements can be found under the section "Pornographic actors" on the notability page, Wikipedia:Notability (people). The requirements are: 1) Has won or been a serious nominee for a well-known award, such as those listed in Category:Adult movie awards or Category:Film awards or from a major pornographic magazine, such as Penthouse, Playboy, or Playgirl, as well as their counterparts in other pornography genre, 2) Has made unique contributions to a specific pornographic genre, such as beginning a trend in pornography, or starring in an iconic, groundbreaking or blockbuster feature, or 3) Has been featured multiple times in mainstream media." If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. - auburnpilot talk 15:27, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am actually featured 2 times in both of those movies. --Chaseevans 16:28, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I haven't participated in the deletion discussion, and have no real opinion on whether or not the article should be deleted. I was just hoping to clarify the nominator's reasoning, as your comment on Talk:Chase Evans indicated you were unfamiliar with the process. The main issues seem to be the conflict of interest that comes with writing about yourself, as well as the lack of reliable sources proving notability, as outlined above. On an unrelated note, you may wish to submit a request on Wikipedia:Changing username. Otherwise, any and all comments and contributions you make will be personally attributable to your identity, and this talk page already appears in a Google.com search. Just a suggestion. - auburnpilot talk 17:29, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
