Welcome!

Hi, please don't remove the user page template from User:CharlieTheTalkingOrange. User pages are not encyclopedia articles, and without the user page template, that page looks as if it were an article - which it isn't. As a matter of fact, you should not be using two (or is it three) different Wikipedia accounts, and you can't use Wikipedia pages, including user pages, for any kind of self promotion. Please remove the content from User:CharlieTheTalkingOrange; if you believe that it will at some point meet the requirements for a Wikipedia article you can move it into your own userspace (with a {{userspace draft}} template at the top of the page). Note that Wikipedia user pages are not a kind of web host, and cannot be used to store unencyclopedic material indefinitely. Thanks, --bonadea contributions talk 10:22, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Bo Poraj edit

The article Bo Poraj has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Disambiguation link notification for October 5 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bo Poraj, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages The Thin Blue Line and Doctors (TV series) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Ujima Radio edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ujima Radio, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. bonadea contributions talk 16:34, 13 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi again, I saw that you inserted Poraj's page at imdb, and a link to a Wikipedia page, in the References section of the article. Unfortunately, IMDB can't be used as a reference in an article about a person, because it's a user-edited web site. And Wikipedia articles can never be used as references at all. I'm sorry to be so difficult, but these are pretty strict rules. However, the article has ten days before it's deleted, and if you find even a single reliable source before then, it won't be deleted in the current process. I'll try to look for references myself, but I have to go away from the computer for a few hours so won't be able to do it right now. Please take a moment to read up on Wikipedia's policy for articles about people, and about reliable sources. Thanks very much for your work on Wikipedia! --bonadea contributions talk 14:03, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your help, I will search the web now. Best regards CharlieWhiteheadActor (talk) 14:09, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

MfD nomination of User:CharlieWhiteheadActor edit

User:CharlieWhiteheadActor, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:CharlieWhiteheadActor and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:CharlieWhiteheadActor during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 10:40, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your notices, I was only asked to take down one of my pages, or I have misunderstood the situation, which I have done. As you have asked I will remove the article list and I will put another notice at the top of my user page stating it is not a wikipedia article although I wish for User:CharlieWhiteheadActor to remain up as I have put a lot of time into this and believe as it is my user page, that as long as readers know this is so it is okay to be left up. Many thanks for reading this and I hope you take my views and actions into consideration, if you wish to delete my pages please reply and allow me to acknowledge first. Best regards CharlieWhiteheadActor (talk) 13:32, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • If there's any particular chunk of the deleted material you want it can be supplied to you. In general, some amount of material about yourself relevant to encyclopaedia writing on your userpage is allowed, but hosting a lot of material for pseudo-website/resume/whatnot purposes isn't. WilyD 09:07, 1 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
    • Again, if you'd like a little bit restored, we can do that. Or, if you want all the markup, that can be gotten to you as well (by restoring the history, or email or something). Otherwise, the conclusions of the discussion here prevail on appropriate/inappropriate use of your userpage. WilyD 16:09, 1 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

The file File:Charlie Whitehead presenting on Whitchurch FM.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphan with no obvious encyclopedic value

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
