Refrences/Peter Sis

I would be happy to clean up your references, but am reluctant to do so in this particular case since Sis's website doesn't meet the standard for citations. For biographies a person's own website isn't considered a reliable source and press releases don't make the cut either. For more see the policy. It can make citing difficult in many cases. The radio prague source is a great one and so I've fixed the use of that for the two places you've used it. Let me know if I can help you in any other way. You are indeed right that I should have referenced self-publish and you might be right about the press releases. My point, poorly expressed above, is that the article relies heavily on these primary sources which violates the 4th criterion under using them. Barkeep49 (talk) 12:58, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Peter Härtling

Hi, thanks for letting me know. I shall definitely have a go at finding sources for Peter Härtling later on this evening - little pushed for time at the moment. Unfortunately, as you have probably found out, most of his works haven't been translated into English, so I have a feeling that English sources may be a little thin on the ground. I have now added sources for Peter Härtling. Most of the sources are in English, although I have had to link to a couple of German websites. I also took out the bibliography section as it was a bit scruffy. I am considering replacing the awards section with a couple of paragraphs of prose. Let me know what you think of the article. BLP sticky PROD

Hi CharlieDelta/Archive 2!. Every attempt to rescue a Wikipedia article is a noble gesture. However, there may be occasions when, with the best will in the world, it is just not possible to accord even a minimum of notability to an article or stub, or find a proper source for it. Most regrettably, even the most dedicated inclusionists will have to concede that the article may have to go if the creator or major contributors cannot justify their work.
For new and recent unsourced BLPs, some users are now working at WT:BLP PROD TPL on the development of templates that are designed to encourage contributors to source new BLPs, without scaring away the newbies who might not be aware of the rules. This template is certainly not another a licence to kill for the deletionists, in fact the very idea of it is to ensure that you are not fighting a losing battle. It would be great if you could look in at the prgogress and maybe leave a word of encouragement. The workshop page is essentially a template development taskforce, and is not a place to engage in a hefty debate on incusion/deletion policy. Redundant categories

Hi! In an article we don't add Category:Children's writers if the article already has a subcategory of that, in this case Category:Norwegian children's writers. Geschichte (talk) 17:55, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

I think that WP:DUPCAT applies in that the "Norwegian" factor (or any other nationality) is a sub-set of "Children's Writers". WP:DUPCAT specifically refers to ethnicity as often being a "non-diffusing" sub category. The discussion at Wikipedia talk:Categorization#Redundancy and user friendliness is also relevant. Since the question is one for debate and we don't appear to have a consistent approach within the Children's Literature Project, I have initiated a discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject Children's literature/Project Discussion#Categories and sub-categories - WP:DUPCAT and you are welcome to join in. In the meantime, I won't add the category to any more articles until we have this resolved.--Plad2 (talk) 08:16, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Freddy the Pig material

I notice you added the template for Freddy Plays Football.[1] Excepting a couple reviews, I've exhausted all the public resources for this book. There are indications that Brooks' correspondence has been preserved. I wonder, as a Managing Director in the company that once published his books, whether any of this is available to you, for use in Wikipedia? High quality thumbnails of the covers would be welcome as well, since the rough dust jacket paper is difficult to scan or photograph. Thanks for the suggestion. I've had a look at Rollback but I'm not sure that I would actually make much use of it at the moment. It's rare that I find anything which isn't just a simple "undo" and I'm OK with that.
