Speedy deletion nomination of Carpit edit

A tag has been placed on Carpit, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Reconsider! 13:45, 13 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Terry hearn edit

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Terry hearn requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Dmol (talk) 10:45, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Terry Hearn edit

The article Terry Hearn has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Single reference of any external coverage; apparently fails WP:BIO.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Vianello (Talk) 21:16, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

August 2010 edit

Your addition to Terry Hearn has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. - Vianello (Talk) 21:19, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for adding spam links. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

As you know I am the owner of carpit.co.uk, a new site which I believe is fast becomming the source and home of information regarding the carp fishing world, which is the main reason why I believe wikipedia users can gain knowledge and information from it, this is evident in the people who have clicked through so far, spending an average of 4.02 minutes on my site. I can imagine I am typical of the average new wikipedia user, having little time to read the in's and out's of how, wh any and what should be included on a good article. I am learning, both by trial and error and reading as much as possible, as you can see I have had one page published and provided several very encyclopedic links, I assume this passed all the reg's etc and so I thought I was on the right track, though my attempt at a bio was obviously not upto scratch. Please excuse the sudden spikes in my activity in terms of editting etc, this is simply down to me putting as much effort into providing a source of information to your users in the short amount of time I have available to me. It is my ambition to become a valued contributer to Wikipedia and I have hundred of topics to write about in the fishing world that are yet to be covered in your index, from Bio's to venues. My actions so far are obviously dishonourable and did not pass the Wikipedia guidelines, this is down to my ignorance in assuming everyone wanted to see my content and that I was on the right path, I can assure you that I will be spending more reading your guides and become a better contributor in the future.

Decline reason:

Your block has expired. Closedmouth (talk) 10:12, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because you continue to violate the 3 important principles above. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:34, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your editing privileges have been suspended indefinitely edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

All your edits have been to add promotional links to subjects with only vague connections, and have continued to do so despite warnings and sanctions. It is apparent that you have no intention not to use the encyclopedia as advertising space, so your accounts ability to edit has been removed. File copyright problem with File:Carpit21.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Carpit21.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:01, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Carpit21.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Carpit21.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:20, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
