It's to let users know what articles need expanding, and the different types allow them to find a subject they are knowledgeable on - Kingpin13 (talk) 08:24, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I don't really understand your question I'm afraid. Do you mean is it okay to put in a single category (i.e. American actors) instead of two (i.e. Film actors & Television actors)? Could you rephrase (or you could take a look at this page, which may explain it). Cheers - Kingpin13 (talk) 08:35, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

What I meant is why do wikipedia need to have so many different categories, why can't it just be under one category, such like (using an explain) New Zealand film & television actors just be under the category New Zealand actors & like wise in various other categories. I lonely ask, because I'm regularly trying to look for a various person & incase I forget their name, I sometimes can't find them

Before I do leave, I would like to say thanks for all the information that I've learnt & people I've been able to find info on.

But I do what to make 1 thing that you head people of wikipedia may what or need to check up on & at the same time maybe it won't even bother you. I say this as a person who copies your lists of actors, sportstars, singers & anything else I've copied in the past that you should look especially on where you have people categorised, example being that I've seen I thought that the likes of Alanis Morissette & Michael J. Fox since born in Canada were Canadians, maybe if people class Michael J. Fox as an Canadian-American actor, author and voice-over artist, then sure you can have him in American & Canadian categories, but why Alanis Morissette??

Meighan Desmond edit

Could you tell me why you removed the stub template from the Meighan Desmond article? The article is a stub, she's from NZ, and she's an actor. So why remove the template? Dismas|(talk) 06:16, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

because i just thought it would be easier to find under new zealand actors, tv or film actors, except for nz actor stub
I think I see what you're saying. Desmond's article is already listed under Category:New Zealand television actors and having the stub tag also lists it under the NZ actor stub category as well. If I understand what you're saying, you'd prefer it if everybody were in some much broader category like Category:Actors. If we did that, then you'd have literally tens of thousands of articles in that category and it would be very difficult to look through. Imagine if the books in a library weren't broken up into sections. You'd have dictionaries, fiction, non-fiction, etc all lumped together. Dismas|(talk) 07:52, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

No, I meant have them under their birth country, but just under the category that they come under. So with the likes of Meighan Desmond, just have her under the Category:New Zealand actors. But maybe that's just too simple for you all to understand

Stub notice removals edit

Please stop removing stub notices from stubs. This also goes for your sock 222.154.169.156.--Oakshade (talk) 06:41, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

In future I won't be touching anything within wikipedia, just because I don't understand what your about here. You need to make things easier to find & maybe like I've already commentated on maybe less categories. (but that's just my thoughts) This place is meant like it says on your about page Wikipedia (pronounced /ˌwɪkɨˈpiːdi.ə/ WIK-i-PEE-dee-ə) is a multilingual, web-based, free-content encyclopedia project based on an openly-editable model, so maybe you shouldn't make it so editable
