Welcome to Wikipedia, Cerie1914! I'm Royal Autumn Crest, and I've been assigned as your mentor. Around 10% of new Wikipedia accounts receive a mentor randomly taken from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! We need to have all kinds of people working together to create an online encyclopedia, so I'm glad you're here. Over time, you will figure out what you enjoy doing the most on Wikipedia.

You might have noticed that you have access to a tutorial and suggested edits. It's recommended that you take advantage of this, as it'll make learning how to edit Wikipedia easier.

If you need assistance with anything or have any questions, click on the "Get editing help" button on the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up a module with links to help pages and a place to ask me questions. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or go here to get help from the wider community.

Hi Royal Autumn Crest. Thank you for being a mentor.
I have a question about cleaning up my editing. I have searched for answers but I'm not using the right key words to find the solution. I have made many little changes to my posts for typing mistakes and wording. The question is, is there a way to clean up the history of the edits so it looks less cluttered with so many nitpicking changes? I don't want it to overshadow the edits made by others. Is it possible or do I have to be fully content with the final text before posting? Thank you in advance.- Cerie1914 Cerie1914 (talk) 18:23, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Cerie1914: No, but you can preview your edits before you make them. Royal Autumn Crest (talk) 16:15, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Royal Autumn Crest:! I recommend you have a look at some of your mentee's contributions and further advise them on Wikipedia's policies. It's one thing to be bold, but if it's a new user without a clear grasp of how Wikipedia works we get:
@Turaids: Ok. You can always tell them that yourself as well, there will be times when I cannot respond quickly, this person is a new user so I would request that you modify your comments to mention just edits rather than the users themselves in any case. @Royal Autumn Crest: at that point they had already dismissed my previous concerns with "you continue to interject on a culture you don’t know" and sadly it has only escalated from there (1 and 2). –Turaids (talk) 23:28, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Turaids: Ok. It can be escalated to Administrator's noticeboard. I can do that now. Cerie, I'd advise working with Turaids and other users as that is the expectation here on Wikipedia Royal Autumn Crest (talk) 18:05, 14 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I had concerns before, but I now I'm aware of how WP operates. I'm fine with working with others and Turaids. I'm glad WP encourages new editors to be bold, especially this past few days, as it's the most effective way to learn how to navigate this space and is very informative. On my end, I see no need to escalate to the noticeboard. Cerie1914 (talk) 18:43, 14 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
