Question

I have a question. How would you get your current signature with my user name? I would like it to be Meldshal42 and then 42 would link to my talk page. Can you show me what I would put to get this? Thanks a bunch, Meldshal42

Go to "my preferences" on the upper right, which is in between "my talk" and "my watchlist." For the signature box, enter:
'''[[User:Meldshal42|Meldshal]][[User_talk:Meldshal42|42]]'''
Then check the raw signature box and save preferences. Then when you enter ~~~~ you should get:
Meldshal42
If you have any questions about this, ask them at my talk page. — Pious7 02:21, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

WAit I want the 42 to link to my talk page. Can you do that to; please?

Re: Hi; how's it going?

I hope you're enjoying your summer so far. I'm still in school. What a drag?! Anyway, I wanted to ask you if you though we should create a WikiProject for American history. Or is there already one? I'm sorry about my spelling errors. Would you believe that I go zany when soemone in my class makes a grammar mistake? My teacher says my vocabulary has been "over-expectation" this year. This kid in my class is a genius! Sorry I got into context about this. My bad; if you want me to delete it; I gladly will..... Meldshal42 01:55, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey Meldshal, sorry to hear about your summer so far, hopefully it will get better. My summer has been bogged down with swim practice at 6:45 just about every day this week, but I can't complain. Your over-expectation in vocabulary sounds astonishing, if I do say myself. (I love words.) As for a WP on U.S. History, here goes:
Pros Cons
Good cause already covered by WP:HIST and WP:USA

Ehlscheid

HI wondering why you tagged Ehlscheid for speedy? It wasn't empty it is a stub which need setting up first. Then the info boxes and data will be added , then articles written and translated from German. Building an encyclopedia takes time and if wikipedia is to be the greatest global source of infomation these places have to have decent articles ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 16:17, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Ah not to worry -I admit the stubs looked a little crap before. My main task with geogrphay now is to ensure that every place in Germany has at least a starter article with a standard infobox, For a project of this scale I was surprised it hasn't been completed yet!! All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 22:40, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

E-Mail

I sent you an e-mail answer to your question. --wpktsfs 23:44, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

You don't bring this to AFD. You tag it as speedy deletion and it will be deleted without a review by peers, just an admin. Noting this, I have speedy closed this AFD. Besides, you wouldn't bring this to AFD, you would bring it to MFD. — Moe ε 21:38, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Human Spaceflight

Hi there Meldshal42, just a quick query - I see you've signed up to the WikiProject Human Spaceflight participants list, and I thought you may be interested if those on the list were to get together for a live chat sometime (maybe over MSN or IRC) in order to set out what we're hoping to do with the project and get it started properly. I think it'd make a lot of difference to the work we're trying to do with it.

If you are interested, and the other folks on the list are too, we can hopefully get together sometime soon at a date and time suitable for everyone on both sides of the Atlantic! :-)

Look forward to hearing from you, Colds7ream 10:48, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Uh... I'll see if I'm open. Thanks, Meldshal42 00:37, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Great! Awaiting replies from the others, once I get them, we'll arrange a date and time. Colds7ream 16:43, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry

Sorry about having to object on the Shakespeare FAC, but we still have some issues to cover. I really should have updated the to do template. I agree with you, though, it is now one of the best articles on wikipedia, we just have a few minor things to hammer out from the last FAC. You're welcome to join in the effort, if you like. Wikipedia:WikiProject Shakespeare Collaboration

The Shakespeare Wikiproject is starting another collaboration to bring Romeo and Juliet to GA status. Our last collaboration on William Shakespeare is still in progress, but in the copyedit stage. If you have strong copyedit skills, you may wish to continue the work on that article. Members with skills in other areas are now moving on. Improving Romeo and Juliet article will set a standard for all other Shakespeare plays, so we look forward to seeing everyone there. Thanks for all your help with the project. David Nestor

Hi! You left a message on Talk:David Nestor about editing the lead paragraph but I can't find any edits of it by you. I'm currently trying to resolve a slight content dispute there and I was wondering if you could clarify? Thanks! --kateshortforbob 21:20, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

That's odd, I see what you mean. Okay, sorry if this caused you any trouble, but i9 edited it when the page said" David Nestor is Irish Gaelic football and plays for" and you know the rest. Thanks, Meldshal42 21:53, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Aaron Dwight Conley

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Aaron Dwight Conley, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. October 2007 newsletter for WikiProject Abandoned Articles

Welcome

The WikiProject welcomes two new members in the past three months:

Progress

The WikiProject is now halfway done, numerically, with the 1000 articles identified in December 2006. The first (oldest) 500 articles have been claimed, reviewed, and (when needed, which was almost all cases) improved. Moreover, given the passage of time, many of articles 501 through 1000 have been worked on by other editors (it's ten months since that list was generated). So reviewing the second half of the 1000 articles should be easier.

A slightly different approach

Section 6 (articles 501 through 600 on the list) has been organized differently than the previous five sections. First, blocks are (roughly) five articles each, rather than 10, making it easier for you to claim and finish a block. Second, perhaps more importantly, each block consists of similar pages; if you're interested in fixing disambiguation pages, there are blocks of those; if you're interested in articles (which is what the project originally started out being), there are blocks of those; and there is one block of lists and one of redirects (mostly redirects to articles). So, fewer surprises this time when you claim a block.

In addition, since the project now has 25 active members (though some are likely inactive), having more blocks will make it easier to spread the editing around.

Inactivating your membership

If you received this newsletter on your user talk page and don't want to receive such postings in the future, please move your name, in the participants section of the WikiProject, to the "Inactive" subsection.

Human Spaceflight WikiProject

Hi, I noticed that you are a member of the Human Spaceflight WikiProject. A couple of weeks ago, I proposed that the Space missions and Space travellers projects, which both appear to be inactive be merged into the Human Spaceflight project. Whilst this is being done, the capitalisation of the Human spaceflight project's title would also be corrected (ie. Human SpaceflightHuman spaceflight). The projects are all doing the same/very similar things, and in my opinion, a single, larger, project would be more effective than three smaller, and somewhat inactive projects.. In light of very little response to messages on the project talk pages, I am now sending this message to all members of all three projects, inviting them to discuss the proposal on the Human Spaceflight project's talk page. I would appreciate your opinion on this. Thanks. --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 22:42, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

why did the women of Caryae betray their country in the Greco-Persian Wars?

Dear Sir,

I am Michael from HongKong, I am a fashion designer. I am now working a new collection inspired by the "Caryatid". please forgive my imperence, I did my homework and really blocked here. if you could give me your advice, it would be deeply appreciated.

For your convenience to get my question, I quote some text from WIKIPEDIA as following:

"The origins of the term are unclear. It is first recorded in the Latin form caryatides by the Roman architect Vitruvius. He stated in his 1st century BC work De architectura that the female figures of the Erechtheion represented the punishment of the women of Caryae (Greek Karyiai), a town near Sparta in Laconia, who were condemned to slavery after betraying Athens by siding with Persia in the Greco-Persian Wars.”

My question is, why did the women of Caryae betray their country? Was there further reason? or simply be threaten by the persians force?

thanks for your time!
